Steinbeck's maxim: “Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.”.

The People's Club leading the way in appreciating their supporters. A proper football club in the true tradition.

A large number of clubs could have let all season ticket holders in for freeast season and still made a profit

They won't, but it's an interesting idea

How would that work ?

"You had a season ticket last year, want next year's for free?"

Not really overly complicated is it?

Yes I could have anticipated that answer but surely that would mean that no new season tickets would ever become available to those on a waiting list, with the current pricing, extremely reasonable by PL standards there is at least some motivation to actually attend the match or if unable to do so place your seat on Stub Hub thus ensuring a capacity crowd, giving the season tickets out for free would result in 100% renewal and empty seats, nobody is going to turn down a freebie and there would be no churn whatsoever enabling new younger supporters to become ST holders.

I wasn't suggesting it being done on a rolling basis, more as a one off like Huddersfield doing theirs for £99 last season

this is our 130th year, so maybe the 130 fans who have held their season tickets for the longest got this season for free?

Do they still do half-season tickets?

That would be a great idea for the 140 or even as a one off but perhaps for those only who have held a season ticket for say 10 years.
