If we’ve got the money I don’t see it being a problem he seems very happy and has fitted in very well with the ethos of the club, as do all the recent new recruits. Big part of that has to be Silva and Brands who from the outside looking in have really taken to the club.
There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures... and the Dutch.

Surely the quality of that Barca squad suggests he wont get anywhere near enough game time than he would here. He can flourish here and hopefully Marcel can sell it to him as such.

Having a portuguese manager is a plus as well.

The only reason they won’t sell him to us, is if they sell him to someone else.
I knew that someday I was going to die, and I knew that before I died, two things would happen to me. That number one; I would regret my entire life, and number two; that I would want to live my life over again.

Only negative is we didn't agree a fee when we got him on loan, a fee for an unknown quantity, surplus player wouldve been a lot less than a surplus player that is rapidly turning into our best player, id have thought?

Brands only slight mistake of an almost perfect window

How do you know it was a mistake?

He could well have asked for it but Barcelona flat out refused, as is fairly sensible in case the lad goes on to have a storming season and increases his market value beyond the fee agreed.

Can see United having a sniff around big Gomes, he's better than Pogba imo

We may have first refusal though?

Also he's under our sphere of influence. That always counts for a lot imo, especially if he's having a good time.
Jeff: That's not the way to win.
Kathie: Is there a way to win?
Jeff: There's a way to lose more slowly.

It would be pretty much unprofessional of the club, not to jump at the chance of signing this guy. From the short period of time he's played for us, he's shown a greater ability than Mikel Arteta. I'm not sure how he racks up in comparison to other ex players, but Arteta is the yardstick I'm using and I feel he's a superior player.  I have to add in my opinion, as this will likely be a very contentious point of view. It's no sleight on Arteta, my personal thoughts atm are, it's something of a compliment. :)

Barca would only do a loan at the time, likewise Chelsea would only do a loan with Zouma
You think Lou Bega knocked it out of the park with Mambo number 1?!No but he kept at it!

I was kind of basing it on paper reports that they were keen to get rid and supporters voting him one of their biggest flops etc which i would have thought would have given us the upper hand but you could be right as they smart negotiators.
