The more we big him up the more Barca are likely to want him back, in any event his price tag is getting bigger by the day.

It would be pretty much unprofessional of the club, not to jump at the chance of signing this guy. From the short period of time he's played for us, he's shown a greater ability than Mikel Arteta. I'm not sure how he racks up in comparison to other ex players, but Arteta is the yardstick I'm using and I feel he's a superior player.  I have to add in my opinion, as this will likely be a very contentious point of view. It's no sleight on Arteta, my personal thoughts atm are, it's something of a compliment. :)
Spot on imo

It's in Barcelona's interest to do nothing until the end of the season and see how it plays out, seeing as he's impressing so far. It'd be in our interests to try and do something in January. I wouldn't be surprised to see the situation unresolved until the summer and Brands scouring the market for replacements just in case.

We’ll sign him if we want.

Barca don’t want him, and his price tag really won’t rise that much.

Box it with 30mil.

You all stress out to much in these situations. It happened with lukaku.

Everytime he scored it was ‘well Chelsea will want him back’ or ‘well that’s another 10mil on his price tag’

It really doesn’t work like that.

The only reason they won’t sell him to us, is if they sell him to someone else.
This has got Manny Fernandes transfer saga written all over it

I'm thrilled with the impact he has had, looks to be a great signing and hopefully one we can keep. I do feel this Arteta comparison is a bit much though. As much as I've liked Gomes, I'd have prime Arteta in there any day of the week.

As mentioned, it's contentious. When Arteta left, I was almost in tears. I wouldn't say it if I didn't believe it, but It is early days and we're going to have to wait and see. He needs to be consistent. We haven't had the chance to know if he is or not, yet. :)

30m no chance, we're currently looking at a Sig price tag. He's as good as Sig and is younger, going to be a big struggle to keep him
