Arteta was superb technically, Gomes is more of a physical player

He absolutely was.

I'm not going to argue. This lad is, "well"! A few levels up. I don't know more about football than most on here, I'm looking at the 60's with comparisons. I think you're wrong. but this is a forum and opinion is.......

I knew that someday I was going to die, and I knew that before I died, two things would happen to me. That number one; I would regret my entire life, and number two; that I would want to live my life over again.

Gomes has great technical ability but Arteta was a fucking wizard with the ball. I rate both of them but Arteta in this team would be fucking insanely good

I think Gomes is better than Arteta, and I loved Arteta.

We're comparing a few games of Gomes, still settling in, to a semi-legendary career in modern Everton terms. Of course Arteta's best games and best seasons are at a higher level than a few games of Gomes so far, but I do think Gomes overall has more to his game and a higher ceiling, if he stays here long enough to show it.

I'm one for democracy. Looks like I'm well out numbered. Let's wait and see. I'm convinced this lad is a football genius. Get your flasks and sarnie boxes out. This guy Silva is the absolute best we could have hoped for. We're going on our European jollies. That is! If we're allowed to leave the country, of course.

Nah, I think there'd be a fair split, and it's not clear cut either way. Time will tell I suppose.

He is seriously good this guy. He is going to have his choice of top clubs if he continues like this. Barca probably not going to let him go.

Different approach to Arteta.

Gomes more physical but Arteta was (early on) also capable of playing on the wing.
