We're not pinning all our hopes on him though. He's an integral part of the process but he's not the only one.
Agree and think it ll work out but we 've promoted him after 1 successful window when he is unproven surely ?

Honestly I'm well on board with brands and the work hes done so far but dont see why we would offer him a promotion so soon.

Maybe he's set out some hugely impressive long term vision for the club to Moshiri and others with details and plans on how to achieve it?

Not everything done at the club is going to be splashed about in the media for the fans and everyone else to see

Silva is the first appointment in the new model of running the football side of the club so I don't think we should get too hung up on whether he stays or goes. It was always going to be possible that the first appointment in this setup wouldn't work but the bigger picture should be borne in mind and if he's not right then we should swiftly move on.

What's gone before isn't really relevant, the first few years of Moshiri's reign were all over the place. We've now got the right structure in place so decisions should be made with this in mind, last summer was a reset.
Same mate. When non-Evertonian’s ask about the club and how Silva’s doing (before and now during the slump) - I’ve said that the manager should be less important now we have Brands in place and the new model.

The shite leaked shit loads of set-piece goals in Klopp’s first season and now the are one the league’s best defences. Did he hire a specialist or spend more time addressing it on the training ground? No, he just bought better defenders. Not absolving Silva from blame, but better players make better teams.

Well, actually, Klopp did hire a specialist and did spend a lot more time working on them on the training ground too...

(Interestingly, he made the point that it was during the summer that they did the bulk of this work though - because it's fucking freezing in winter, so players don't concentrate as well if they're just standing around in the cold.)

While it is a promotion it’s also a completely new role to the club (I think) it’s the old job with added responsibilities. So as his old job no longer existed and they were happy with his work he’d obviously be the first person they’d look to

I’m not convinced he’s done great so far though. His performance is always going to be linked in part to results and they’ve not been good. While I do rate Mina it’s a worry he seems behind Keane in the pecking order and we’ve still not solved the striker issue

He’s signed a lot of players we were all happy with but so far a lot of them haven’t been overly impressive

Lads, there's a lot more to his job than signing players for fucks sake.

Hey there mister can you tell me what happened to the seeds I've sown
Can you give me a reason sir as to why they've never grown

We are the worst at it in the entire league. How much better players do we need to be average?? Also we can field 2 centre halves and a left back silva signed and apparently we rejected interest for Pickford in the summer. So 4 of the back 5 silva had an influence in being here

Hello while we're chatting set pieces, here's our corner stats.

set pieces are clearly a problem but I think its a bit over done trying to use this as evidence Silva is incompetent. Arsenal leaked set piece goals for years and was consistently in the top 4 under Wenger. Why? because they dominated open play and created goals from open play. Not saying its not a problem but its only a small slice of it and our inability to score from open play (thanks in large part to our lack of a goalscoring threat up top) for me is really the reason we are where we are. Same people on here bashing Allardyce for his system seem to want Silva to drill the players in defending set pieces and grind out 1-0's. Give the man time (and a centre forward who can score!)
