Zouma decision out of Everton hands

Everton boss Marco Silva admits that Chelsea may not want to sell defender Kurt Zouma in the summer, but says that he will test that resolve and hopes that the player will want to come to Goodison on a permanent basis.

Iíd have him, really good player who will eventually settle down, erase the mistakes and become one of the leagueís best.

The fee though...Ake cost Bournemouth £20m and heís a bit pants. Think heíd cost at least £40m.

Maybe more. Heís got 4 years left on his deal and Chelsea get £5m per season in loan fees. So they could easily get £15m by loaning him in the next 3 seasons then get £30m by selling him permanently with one year left on his deal (using the Keane price for comparison). So heís at least a £45m asset to Chelsea... and thatís without inflation over the next 4 years.

Hopefully they just want rid to balance FFP.

Youíve just plucked those numbers out of thin air.

Nobody is playing 45mil for Kurt Zouma so they can either sell him at a reasonable price (20-30mil) or keep him on a high wage not playing many games.

30m seems about right.  Fair to both sides.

I'm really not arsed about him but we are desperate so that's another £25-30m to stand still.

The scenario is hypothetical but he did cost £5m to loan, he has got 4 years on his contract and Keane cost £30m the last year of his contract.

Chelsea will just keep loaning him out (and have other teams pay his wages) and keep making money then. Just saying if we want him, weíll have to pay enough to make it worth Chelseaís while.

Yeah those calculations work except hopefully we couldn't possibly be that stupid to pay so much for some in their last year of contract. £5m is approximately the depreciation of his value per year except the last year it always costs more so would be sensible to pay £15m but probably less because everyone knows Chelsea don't want him. Add that to three years of £5m and you get £25-30m
