This is a really nice read, he talks a fair bit about Everton. Bill Kenwright is a good man. - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/47394200

I remember when we offered him that contract, a few people on here questioned the decision, saying this wasn't a professional thing and why did we do it.

And while I can see where they were coming from, while professionalism does require a certain amount of ruthlessness, it doesn't equal being a cunt for no reason. You've still got to be ruthless with the right people and in the right way.

And if you read that interview, that answers the why too.

Doesn't really equate to being a cunt if you don't offer a job to someone who's consistently fucked up throughout their career without learning a pretty simple lesson.

In the real world if you run a business and he comes to you (and you know about his track record) for a job, would you offer him a contract?

Kenwright has known that lad since he was a boy. He also has the facility and the option to give the boy a leg up for the last chance saloon. And it worked.  Nothing to see here other than 24 Carat decency. Kenwright deserves a big thumbs up.
Steinbeck's maxim: “Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.”.
