So net spend currently at 13million for the window after the sale if Onyekuru?

If we could somehow shift a couple of Bolasie, Mirallas, Martina for nothing but getting rid of wages we will have set ourselves up to spend big money over the coming years I would think.

Silva said a few days ago we'd spent £28m net, that was before we sold Onyekuro so it's probably about right. A couple more out the door and we should just about break even.

Well definitely not just £13m....

Gana 28
Lookman 16
Vlasic 14
Onyekuru 13
McCarthy 3

Income of £74m?

Gomes 22
Iwobi 28
Kean 25
Gbamin 22
Delph 9

Spend of £106m?

Ya can only go off what Silva says because I'm sure someone pointed out on here that all transfer fees in the PL this summer were undisclosed, apart from Gomes.

So the reported fees will be leaks and can only be considered approximate figures.

I think Silva had factored the Onyekuru sale into his £28m quote. It had been in the works already and reportedly all agreed at that stage, it's only now become official. Which would explain the figures.

It doesn’t work that way, chief.

Firstly, each fee will be split over the length of the contract, so a £25 million fee and a five year contract would count as £5 million, and secondly the net spend will also factor in wages per annum for the new signings, and minus the wages per annum of outgoing players.

£35.46m net spend according to this. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-everton/transfers/verein/29

Sod factoring length of contract and wages into it.

Do what?

If you’re an accountant and calculating detailed finances for FFP fine

But we’re talking general net spend as has been reported everywhere for ever in sales v buys

Net spend might not be an entirely accurate way of determing finances but it’s a decent indicator on a proportion of the commitments you’re making.

Of course wages matter too but you still have to pay for any players you buy over an agreed period and these aren’t insignificant amounts of money.

Silva is taking everything into account when he mentioned our net spend, because Everton are a business, and that’s how it works.
