You did note the question mark at the end of my comment? It's pretty clear from the rest of my post (the bit you didn't quote) that I'm questioning the story rather than Moshiri.

Of course I did, but I'm responding to the "barmpot" comment. Is that ok? You do tend to get quite defensive when someone directly responds to your posts. It's only a discussion.

Haha! That's ironic coming from you.

But him coming back to the Prem with a chip on his shoulder, could be a thing of beauty.

We'd want 5 or 6 years ago Diego to make a statement. Today it's like "Oh yeah - I remember him".

Would he improve our current attacking options? Yes. But so would lots of other players who wouldn't have inflated wages, inflated ego, bad attitude and disciplianry problems. I think we should look at them first.

I'm only here for the cladding/Bramley Moore Dock updates

I can't help but think it was meant in past tense with Costa as a prototype of what we'd like to sign up front.

That said, it's not the first time Costa and Everton have been mentioned in the same sentence.

The derby would be entertaining beyond the norm that's for sure.

Would have loved Costa here a few years ago (when he was still in his 30s ;)), he's such a loveable rogue...

I wouldn't be totally against a loan deal though, you never know.

@brap2 is completely right. Costa's done now. His legs have pretty much gone, and he's nowhere near the player he was. This would not be any sort of statement.

And yet again, none of the reliable sources have said a word about it, so it's clearly nonsense.

I like the thought of Moshiri wanting a statement signing, Costa isn't it though
