We'd get him for less than 16, can we just sign a striker first though, rather than a 3rd choice CM

Don't think he's any better than Morgan or Davies myself.

He's better than McCarthy like, but who isn't.
I think he's better than all three. He's just contributed a fair whack to a double championship winning squad. Apart from a rusty performance for England a few weeks ago, I think he's tidy and efficient on the ball and doesn't go hiding.

How many of our current midfield would get to play in a third of City's league games?

Gana and Gomes, then youíre struggling.

11 out of 38 isnít a third though.

Iíd say a lot of those appearances wouldíve been at left back as well, or probably cameos off the bench.

We'd have been happy to have signed him straight from Villa. He'll do ok here; every decent side has reliable 7 out of 10  players who do a job with minimal fuss.

I'm gonna stick my neck out here and say he will be our 5th maybe even 4th best player next season.

Nobody is unloading our garbage for us (to offset the salary).  This screams "luxury item" when we still need to be building the foundation.

Maybe if we're talking solely about left backs.
Finally found the thread where I said Deulofeu wasn't all that.

We will see in a few years where he is at. I'm betting he'll be at a worse club than Everton rather than at Barcelona.

Currently at Watford.

I'm almost convinced.
read it like, makes some good points about being better in possession than Gana, again can only see delph being our 3rd choice CM, why would he swap the city bench for Evertons?

didn't realise he can fill in at RB, maybe that's another reason why were looking at him, as kennys loaned out

I mean, if the wages aren't problematic, he's fine being rotational (at CM and maybe RB), then ok.  There is value in kicking the can down the road at RB, as I have yet to hear even a whisper about sorting that out (long-term).

Don't think I've ever seen him play right back.
