I get your point. I don't agree with it.

Agree to disagree.

Not even sure I do at the moment. Have flip flopped back and forth since the first rumour.
I knew that someday I was going to die, and I knew that before I died, two things would happen to me. That number one; I would regret my entire life, and number two; that I would want to live my life over again.

Heís not going to be anything more than decent.

Which is fine for 8mil, and Iím sure he brings a lot off the pitch as well.

But he isnít playing 30 games a season and becoming one of our best players.

Take this signing for what it is and youíll be pleased with what he offers. Take it as a Gareth Barry/James Milner scenario and youíll just disappoint yourself.
Hey there mister can you tell me what happened to the seeds I've sown
Can you give me a reason sir as to why they've never grown

I don't think it's as cut and dried as people make out.

He hasn't played much football the past few years so he may well have more left in the tank than many are predicting. We're not in Europe either so he won't be overworked. Players like this usually end up playing a lot more games than you think simply because he can slot into a number of positions.

Pleased with this signing, always nice to see that a player is respected by his team mates and the other staff.

Heís never been particularly pacy so itís not like heís going to go massively downhill as he loses it.

Football teams now have huge teams supporting the players that can keep the body going well into the mid thirties as long as the desire and attitude is still there.

I've always associated him with being quick

Agreed. He might not be a world beater, but he'll 100% be effective, hes just come from arguably the best English team in decades, where he played a role in an unbelievable title win.

Hes not the marque signing everyone was hoping for, but how people cant see this is a great piece of business is beyond me.
