It wouldn't be a terrible signing.

PROS
- Likely to be a low fee relatively speaking
- Bags of Premier League experience
- Versatile
- Demonstrates good leadership qualities at City (documentary on Amazon)
- Is a good player

CONS
- Will likely demand high wages and a 3 year contract, which is too long (opinion)
- Has hardly played in midfield recently which is where we would likely want use him
- Would demand regular 1st team football
- Little to no resale value

Decent, yet unexciting signing.  He will surprise a lot of people who aren't on board IMO.

BBC reporting it now.

It's on, but knew that earlier from our mate Django .

Paul Joyce must be on the edge having to deal with those red fucktards saying the same jokes over and over in the replies...

He's obviously gotten a pay raise. Especially with a 3 year contract.

He was on 90k a week at city.

Or he could now be on and £80k three year contract instead of a £90k one year?

He was on 90 for 5 years at city....

Now he has a 3 year deal with us. I don't think he would negotiate like George Costanza.

It's not a given that he's taken a per week pay rise or even stayed the same. He may well have taken a pay cut in exchange for a longer contract guaranteeing his security for 2 years more than the 1 year remaining on his City contract.

You maybe right, he may have had a pay rise. But you are assuming, I am merely pointing out that it's viable that he could have taken a per week paycut in  favour of longer term security. It's not always that black and white...

I'm really happy he's signed, £8-10m is a bargain really in this market. I think he'll be a success.
