I'm not disappointed with this signing if it happens, be brings a lot of positives.

Experienced, versatile, valued leadership, comfortable on the ball, good work rate and not shy of puttin his foot in. Our midfield has been crying out for some character and passion for a few seasons.

One negative from what I've seen is sometimes he can go a bit over the top, which I believe he is well aware of and Pep has told him to curb it a few times after the red cards cost them points.

I'm gonna put it out there, Delph is a good player and you're all wrong.

Don't think he's any better than Morgan or Davies myself.

He's better than McCarthy like, but who isn't.
I think he's better than all three. He's just contributed a fair whack to a double championship winning squad. Apart from a rusty performance for England a few weeks ago, I think he's tidy and efficient on the ball and doesn't go hiding.

We're yet to see Silva really go for a 433, maybe because he hasn't got the players for it.

Delph is mobile and aggressive, as opposed to Schneiderlin who is stationary and pathetic, or McCarthy who is injured and injured.

Gomes
Gueye
Davies
Delph

Ideally one more, but I'd be happy going into the season with that, as long as we strengthen CB and striker too.

He had his chance to join us in 2009 and chose Villa.....

fkk him off.....we're no longer a last chance saloon....
Holding 9 year jilt grudges would be a mental way to run a football club.

Teams require a balance in ages. The odd experienced head can only help the team. Look at Barrie and his influence.. Delph will do well here I think and will surprise his doubters.

Barrie is a bad one.

He's got the experience that we need in there.

My only concern is his fitness, as the huge difference between him and our other option there is concerning.
Delph's levels of performance should be a good aim for Davies to set himself. Similar build, similar ball level of passing ability.
