Nah, they will do the same as last season, have a decent run but fall away and finish in the bottom half

I'd argue they had a better season than us tbh, overall. Way we ended last season gives me optimism though (just wish we had big kurt)

Keane-Mina didn't concede a goal in pre-season together

Think Mina only conceded one goal in the copa as well.
Hey there mister can you tell me what happened to the seeds I've sown
Can you give me a reason sir as to why they've never grown

Really like Mina as well to be fair, was just hoping for continuity of Zouma to kickstart the season.

Mina slotted in perfectly twice against Chelsea and kept 2 clean sheets. MOM in one if I recall, up and down in other games but had nibbly injuries and can only get better with a run of games

the worry is the manager never said a word about Lewis Gibson when talking about it in the press today so do we take it that he will not be taking any part of the 1st team squads

He said last week he's not ready at this level.

I remember Holgate having some great games as CB a few years back. Did he get worse? Hasnít he gotten any better in these last few years?

22 yr old. Time for him to step up. I thought Zouma was an expensive luxury really.

yeah lets buy a player that has never played in the prem and play him in a position he played a bit of years ago that will go well for him settling in
That's the spirit.

Not sure Holgate is good enough, but fundamentally he hasn't played enough games at CB to be playing there in the PL. This league is too unforgiving to be learning on the job, especially for a CB.

Just had a look at his stats and he's played 50 career games at CB...that includes sub appearances...and playing 25 games for the U23s. No wonder his positioning is poor and not yet up to scratch.

Cuco Martina can play centreback..
Maybe Marco should have said that to Brands last Monday and we wouldn't be in this position now.

Interesting note from Greg O'Keefe yesterday about the issues with signing another CB this summer: "The issue was Silva insisting the new CB had to have Premier League experience. "
