Thought that whole USA day thing that they did was pretty cringe when two players that had only ever served Everton and had over 600 appearances between them were left to leave through the side door. Not Howard's fault though, he'd made the decision to leave, whereas we don't seem able to make decisions like that and just leave players hanging. That part of Everton still hasn't changed, they did the same with Jags, "here you go, you'll guess what this means, have the last few minutes of the game even though we've not actually had the decency to confirm to you whether you're staying or not". Baines is similar, he got a deal but even as the final whistle went he didn't know whether he was staying or not. It's not a great way to treat long serving players.
