Like on soaps when there's a convenient fire/disaster to get rid of a load of stale old cast?

Gone are the days when players used to put in transfer requests because they werent getting enough playing time, now they just sit back on 50 to 100 grand a week and wait until  they are free agents.

Wage bill 125m (players only)
what we need to get of it 26.634m ( with players we all seem to think are going or gone)

the only play I have put in there that is debatable is Walcott but at over 5m a year I think he has to be gone for all we get out of him (even when on the pitch )

who do yous think are top earner is and how much a year do you think he is getting

Wage bill is 82m; where'd that crazy number come from? If it were 125m it would be 113% of the club's revenue in 2018 and that would be one step closer to bankruptcy.

Top salaries are Bernard & Mina at 6.24m or 120k/week but I don't know if Richarlison's new extension changed that.

Wages rose by over 40m from 104.7m to 145.5m (39%) as their new signings attracted sizeable wage packages as Everton moved towards a more ambitious wage structure.

with the player we got out the door it was about 20m in wages or so

but it was more the 2nd line I was getting at 26m in wages to players that are giving nothing to us
(31m if you put morgen in there I did not as I feel he gives us something )

Bizarre, I've read that article!

I could have sworn @Mick 1995 gave the 82 wages/110 revenue numbers when he was helping me understand FFP but maybe I dreamed it lol

RE FFP:

Nothing to do with the stadium counts towards any calculation.
Last year our wage as percentile was 77%. 145m in total with a loss of 13m.

They're the only 3 figures that matter.

77% isnt in any rules. But from our own peace of mind, we don't want to see that figure increase by more than a percent or 2. Ideally it would come down a couple of points.

145m wage bill last year means we can increase our wages to 152m without bumping up against any action. We can increase this commensurate with any deals that increase revenue. (Like if we signed a deal with companies such as eTorro, monster, megafon or whatever happens to the fanatics deal that ends this year)

...

Rev was 189m. That's why wages are at the 77% level. As high as id ever want to see it.
