I had visions of George Green going on to be better than Messi

That goal he scored for the youth team that back heel volley while turning around thing was amazing

Even when out on loan at Tranmere and he scored that last minute worldy I still foolishly believed he was gonna come good

I went to watch Fulham U18's against ours about 5 years ago and he came on for the last 10 minutes and absolutely ran the show.

It was like watching Rooney in that season when the youth team got to the cup final. Head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch.

Who was the lad with the curly hair that was talked about coming through the youth system about 10 years ago?  Think he ended up going to Scotland?

On the Oster train here too, thought was going to be wonderful.

Simon Davies I though was going go be great, turned out to be a coward.

Jose Baxter and Francis Jeffers spring to mind as academy products who I talked up endlessly to my mates.

Rodrigo... remember watching him in pre-season against Wrexham and thinking we had a right talent on our hands. Still think we might have if it weren't for that injury.

I remember reading wonderful reviews about Danny Williamson who came from West Ham (part of the Unsworth deal?) and being really excited. Don’t think I ever saw him play.

Cheebz - Thought he was going to be like Drogba after he went rampaging through Europe.

JP Kissock - Can’t actually remember him playing, but thought he’d be like messi based on something someone said on here.

Vaughan - Obviously

Sandro - my WhatsApp group chat actually had “Reminds me of Suarez” in it.

DCL - starting to show it now, but I’ve very much been in his corner throughout.

Beattie ffs
Royston Ricky Drenthe
Always thought Shandy needed minutes
And finally, i believed with all my heart in Ross Barkley.

Edit : deffo thought Sandro was going to be special. How he looked so out of his depth here I've no idea.

Jack Rodwell I thought was going to be a bal paying CB for England.

I knew that someday I was going to die, and I knew that before I died, two things would happen to me. That number one; I would regret my entire life, and number two; that I would want to live my life over again.
