*Brian Labone did play for us until 1971 but he made about 10 appearances in the 70s so didn't feel right to put him in.

Ratcliffe +1 would be my early prediction for CB.

This is harder. I loved Degsy because he could score goals as well as defend. Watson was a colossus and Jags was awesome... I'm going with Watson and the Rat because of his pace. I'll probably change it in a min because separating emotions and reality is hard.

Can't see Pistone..

Or the supporters player of the year for the 2010/11 season Jonny Heitinga, was actually really good that season, shame it never lasted

Ratcliffe, Mountfield and Baines.

Picked Mountfield as he scored some important goals in his time.

No matter how bad we've been we have always had boss defenders.

Still a few like Unsworth, Distin and Yobo who could've made that list.
Hey there mister can you tell me what happened to the seeds I've sown
Can you give me a reason sir as to why they've never grown

Unsworth was a blue but let's be honest a bit slow and clumsy. Can't fault his heart though

Nah unsworth was a good defender.

Ratcliffe and Watson over Jags just for me but tough call. Baines an easier choice

Southall is the easiest pick of the lot. As good as Martyn was, Nev was still on another level.

Gary Stevens for RB. He just edges Seamus Coleman because he was deceptively quick and could put in a quality ball too. Him and Trevor Steven down the right was a thing of pure beauty.

LB has to be Baines, no explanation needed, just a pure baller.

Centre halves - Ratcliffe has to be in there. Had just the right blend of pace and positional nous, with just enough snide to get away with the occasional misdemeanour.

Derek Mountfield - I don't think you can underestimate the value of a centre half who chips in with goals in double figures.
