Finest Everton moment: The sublime penalty against Manchester United in the 2009 FA Cup Semi-Final which opened the Blues’ account in the shoot-out.
Leighton Baines signed for Everton in the busy summer of 2007 and made his impressive debut against Manchester United at Goodison Park. Since then, Leighton has gone on to become one of Everton’s finest players and one of the best left backs in the country. He properly established himself in the Everton first team in the middle of the 2008/09 season when he started linking up excellently with Steven Pienaar on the left wing. Ever since Baines has played in an incredible amount of games for Everton, being the only genuine left back at the club since Joleon Lescott’s departure in the summer of 2009. Baines is noted for his excellent attacking play, delivery and his set-pieces.
