Any form of scouting should have shown that 1 in 3 form wasn't transferable to the premier league, not was the player suited to the way we played.

It's an abhorrent waste of money for a club without any.

I don't buy it was Beto or nobody, that's not how football works.
You can’t guarantee any player will perform though.

Beto has a good record, is strong and quick so it’s easy to see why we thought he was worth taking the risk on.

Sounds like gykorees and the lad at dortmund were our main targets but we didn’t have the resources.

He hasn’t really been that bad. He’s scored a decent amount of goals for the minutes he’s played, put in some really good performances, but can’t seem to put it all together for a manager to trust making him the main man.

If we decide we don’t want him here in the summer then we’d still get a decent fee for him, or if we send him on loan then he has the ability to score goals in another league to get better money for him further down the road.

In terms of the bad transfers we’ve made over the years, beto is far from the worst.

No transfer is guaranteed but one look at this guy shows he's not worth £25m and was always going to be a waste of money.

We might get £15m for him, pretty sure there's some PSR problem with buying for £25m and selling for £15m two years on, but regardless of that he's been completely useless apart from a 4-5 game spell. He's not been out biggest waste of money in the Moshiri era but he's been the biggest under Thelwell's tenure and by some margin.

People were willing to die on a hill for this guy, saying he'd score 15+ a season of played regularly, that he's a bags man just being used wrong etc... now it's been proven that apart from a weird purple patch he's not even a good finisher then same people still won't accept he's been a waste of money. It is what it's is, people see it differently and the fact he's a very loveable bloke imo clouds people's judgements on him as a player and as a signing.

For me he's been a complete waste of the very small amount of funds we had available.

V important goals this year.

Will go on to be fine somewhere. We just need a more complete striker.

Yes no doubt those goals were massive, but it's a small number of games he's been of use, and really that's quite damning of a £25m signing.

But I do appreciate those goals and his impact in them, he almost changed my mind on him as a player during that short spell.

Who was dying for beto? Who said 15 plus goals?

Honestly don't get that....I've not seen anyone saying anything of the sort.

Don't know how you missed that, it's been said numerous times on here until he proved it to be completely untrue.

Well no, just because you can't remember something doesn't make it bull shit.

It's been said on more than one occasion by more than one person. You can dismiss it, doesn't make any difference to me, but you calling something you don't remember or didn't read doesn't make it bull shit.

Ok so you're calling me a liar? What have I got to gain by making that up?

I tell you what, just stop replying to anything I type and I'll do likewise.
