Same, I had to read it 3 times to understand it wasn't referring to Ashley 🤣

The absolute last thing we need is experience. We have loads of experienced players who are pretty shit at football. We need good younger players.
Yes we do need youth, and good footballers, (a number of them), we haven't for some time had both, that's hopefully obvious,... but we will actually need a mix in the rebuild.

Our 3 oldest (by far) players will be leaving/wont be playing, and 9, potentially 10 of our oldest 12 (all 28+) will be too, leaving Tarkowski and Pickford to argue it out on the pitch, and the 'heart of a lion but voice of a mouse' Gana. That doesn't fill me with confidence. No one to 'scruff a game' or motivate others at least.

We don't necessarily need experience per se, but we do the leadership qualities (that the like of which Young, Begovic and to some extent Coleman don't really seem to possess anyway). We might think Coleman has, but he's all we've had for so long, and seems to me to be a reluctant leader in a vacuum... (cue all and sundry thinking I'm having a shot at Coleman).

And I know this is referencing ancient history, and it isn't really my point at all, but it interested me to find out that when Hansen said "you can't win anything with kids", 40% of that team were all over 29!

Think this is about right. The only thing I think may change is that for PSR/budget reasons, McNeil could be a starting option.

I think pace on the RW is an absolute priority this summer. Possibly second to someone in CM who can pass a ball and isn't a coward.

Whether they are loans or permanents is largely irrelevant, we have alot of scope to take on numerous players to fill gaps and to satisfy quality deficiencies. Mentally stronger players with leadership traits should form some of this, and I think Moyes will look to do this with adding one or more experienced prem ready players.
I think 4 or 5 loans (over both windows) and 3, maybe 4 permanent signings is what we will be aiming for. (Plus a couple re-signings)

Yep probably not far off it, given Moyes likes smaller squads. He'll pick a leader & established player or three out of those, but I think numbers will be more important than it was when he was here last, given we can make so many more subs in a game, and he'll actually want options from the bench, as we've not had any for so long.

Beto has to go, not good enough.
A top striker who can hold the ball and lay it off ACCURATELY, is the number one priority.

It’s probably a priority to the likes of you and me because of what we want to watch, but does Moyes have the same priorities based on how he wants to play and who is available? Who knows - it’s anyone’s guess.

Takes care of the ball well, works hard and contributes with numbers - I think we’ll see plenty more of (can’t) Run DMc

We absolutely do need a new CM, an all rounder that can receive the ball and control it in tight spaces and can also get up the pitch and see a pass (and execute said pass). Who that is I don’t know but it’s an utter necessity as well as a decent striker.
Going to need to be clever on the books to free up some coinage.

DCL: The i Paper understands that the forward’s representatives have been in contact with Moyes recently and are seeking fresh talks over his future, raising the possibility of a new deal that many thought had been written off.

They will not pursue a £30m move for Chelsea’s Armando Broja unless his valuation shrinks significantly (which is not what sources close to the Blues suggest will happen) and are instead “all in” on Ipswich striker Liam Delap, with Moyes understood to be a huge fan of the player.

Jesper Lindstrom
Word is that he’s unlikely to be retained after a mediocre loan spell…

Jack Harrison
Moyes likes Harrison’s attitude though and seems open to him staying.
