I could see from a certain perspective it'd be sensible to keep him, but it just seems like it's time to find a new main striker and I'd imagine also he'll find a deal where maybe he's an off the bench option for a team playing in Europe which probably suits where his injuries have taken him.

He's not reliable enough for a team with limited resources.

No way he'd take a 1 year contract.
And there's no way we can be giving him a 3 or 4 year deal on the contract that he wants
And it's hard to see any other team coming up with that with his track record of injuries.
This is a tricky situation for him and he needs to think long and hard about what he wants.

I imagine some decent sides will take a punt on what hea worth. So he goes elsewhere unless we vastly overpay for someone who's not reliable and doesn't score goals

I'm happy for him to stay but will be mortified if it's on similar to what he earns now

There is no justification whatsoever to pay him what he's on now, not even for a year or two.
Surely we can see this.
There is probably some sides that would take a chance on him on a free, but it's hard to see him getting big money.
Then again there's always one aint there

I'd give him a 2 year deal with an option for a 3rd.

£60k a week wages
Big goal bonus
Moderate appearance bonus

Hes too young to accept that deal, minimum hes getting is a 4 year deal.

If he gets a four year deal we might as well get Moshiri back in to run things. He's not getting that anywhere with his injury record.

We hold the cards, he's not got offers coming in for him.

Yeah we aren't offering him that, not in a million years.

He'll either end up at Newcastle on 50-60k a week or with us on about double that.

He's getting nothing like what we offered him and he turned down. So he's back seeing how daft we are

Beyond him not keeping fit yesterday was a reminder of him also being largely quite poor these last couple of years

Think I prefer beto. Least he can finish a bit and stays fit
