And this is why I’m expecting this to be announced soon.

Re: The Rebuild
If Gueye re-signs and with having Beto I think my order of priority is currently:Sir Stealth wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 8:43 am In an Ideal world we would like to see Iroegbunam, Chermiti and Armstrong all go out on loan again, but I think due to the sheer volume of players we need we may end up keeping them about as this Moyes generations Gosling, Anichebe and Rodwell
If we do get those Gana and Keane extensions it’s a start, free transfer veteran keeper and bump up Harry Tyrer to 3rd choice keeper seems easy enough
Then you really want majority of funds going on Striker, Winger and a right back I think
RW
CM
RB
AM [Backup - Allows Harrison to go on loan]
ST [Backup - Allows Chermitti to go on loan]
LB [Backup]
RW [Backup]
CB [4th]
GK [Backup]
But its pretty much essential that we get all of them. If we don't we're going to have chunks of the season playing sub-optimally.
Re: The Rebuild
I want £150m+ or we're in massive trouble. That team ^ goes down without splash.StirlingBlue wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 8:32 am We're not spending over £100m, no way. I'd guess that we'll sign three players for good money, a few frees and some loans.
Based on the links we're seeing I'd guess something like:
Striker: £30m-£40m on somebody like Barry, Ferguson etc
Wide Forward: £15m-£25m on somebody like Richarlison, Fofana, Weah etc
DM: Buying £15m-£25m somebody like Diarra/Onyedika or a cheaper option like Ndidi/Longstaff for £10m
LB: Buy a young prospect for £10m who won't get much game time yet (Might not happen if we go with KWP as LB cover)
Free Transfer for full back depth of Tete or Kyle Walker-Peters.
Free transfer/Low fee for an experienced back up keeper
Either resign Keane as 4th choice CB or get another free for cover there
Sell Patterson and have O'Brien/Coleman as RB cover.
That would leave us with:
Barry (Beto)
Ndaiye (McNeil) Alcaraz (Armstrong) Fofana (McAtee)
Gueye (Iroegbunam) Onyedika (Garner)
Myko (New LB) Branthwaite (O'Brien) Tarks (4th CB) KWP (Coleman)
Pickford (New GK)
Probably keep one loan slot open for an exciting young AM/Winger and then send Armstrong back out on loan.
Re: The Rebuild
There's a cap on that.
Villa sold theirs for just over £50m and have higher revenue than us. These sales have to be at a 'fair value' remember.
How goodison will impact that (does that get sold to the holding co also?) I don't know, but we shouldn't expect much more than 40-50m, which is what we sold Richy and Gordon for and didn't see a penny of that money.
Re: The Rebuild
Sell the women's team to one subsidiary company for £50m, sell Goodison to another for £100m, then that company sells Goodison to the other subsidiary and they in turn sell the women's team... All money funnelled back in to the mens team. Easybrap2 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 9:20 am There's a cap on that.

Re: The Rebuild
Just genuinely how I feel.
We've scraped by the last couple of years with a very thin squad devoid of quality.
We are as it stands in a much worse position than that. We're in a worse position than when Benitez took over, worse position than under Allardyce, worse position than under Dyche.
The idea everything will be smooth summer sailing because Moyes is here is completely insane - he needs to get this squad deeper, younger and better and that is going to cost a lot of money.

I reckon that team finishes mid table under Moyes.brap[emoji638] wrote: I want £[emoji6

Re: The Rebuild
Feel confident we will do the business we need to do.
Might not he as quick, we might not have many in for the start of pre season, but we will get there.
Reckon we will fully utilise all our loan slots again.
I'm relaxed, for now anyway.

Re: The Rebuild
Is it normally so much up in the air in terms of free transfers. Seems like there's a lot still not decided if they are even leaving never mind where to.

Re: The Rebuild
Aside from Chelsea, City and the RS which teams have actually spent big so far.
New financial year so it will start picking up for many clubs this week. I expect activity to ramp up over the next week/ten days.
Not concerned, we'll have four or five players in by the time we depart for USA. We'll continue to add very much up until deadline day.

Re: The Rebuild
Yeah we've got loads to do and it would be really nice to see some good moves happening early, but it's certainly not time to commence Operation Hill Dickinson Flapxcerise for a little while yet.
Re: The Rebuild
Flap2's gone very early this summer.
Think there's lots to be positive about this summer, new owners, new stadium, there's a definite structure there and some top people in position now. There's lots to do but it feels like we've the right people in the right places to make it happen but it was always going to take three or four windows to get things right. Anyone thinking we'll get it all done this window or expect five signings this week is going to be badly disappointed barring some kind of minor miracle.

Re: The Rebuild
Im not particularly worried. If we are vastly short come August maybe.
I think we will be trying to get our first 11 in order in July. Might have to wait until late August for your back up LB and the like.
