Someone like longstaff or Ndidi allows us to send Tim out on loan and they’re both massive improvements on him as they know how to play in the premier league.

We look a lot better with either of them as a 4th choice instead of Tim.

Both could play the box crasher role if needed as well.

Need a big signing CM as well. Someone we can build the team around who can use the ball well.

Agree, reckon we need a Guimaraes-type.
Big name signing, or someone similar on the up, intent-signalling.
Someone to run the show.

More and more Roma journos running with this Wesley story, roughly translates to using us to get him.

Strange one if true

Probably a lot more to it, with some benefit to us

They sign a player and loan them to us.

There's no benefit to either club for that. It's one of 3 things:

- This is a player we want, but work permits are easier going via Italy first
- This is a player we want, but we feel his development will be improved by spending some time in Italy instead of England first
- We want one of their players and have more financial wriggle room than they (we have P&S to worry about, they have actual FFP). This makes the books better for them & we get a player we want.

Feels very murky though. Not a fan of these kinds of deals. If it was another club, then I wouldn't bat an eyelid, but the fact that it's Roma makes me think this is all a bit too dodgy for my liking!

As I said earlier in the thread, loads of clubs are doing this and getting away with it, we'd be naive not to do it as well

Doing what though?

This is the point of my worry. We're not farming kids through "lesser" clubs. We're not bigger than Roma. There's no way they would, or should, become a feeder club for us.
If anything, it would end up being the other way around - they are much more likely to be competing in the Champions League going forward than we are.

Are you ok using any financial wriggle room we have to help them out because we have the same owners? With no actual benefit for us?

Lol at anyone thinking roma are becoming a feeder club for us.

Come on, lads.

This is just a dodgy deal for Roma to sign a player whilst they struggle with PSR.

It’s shite for us getting involved with this rubbish.

At least he boosts our "club with the best looking players" title up a bit.
