Re: Michael '3 goals' Keane
Is he 3rd choice right back? I need to know who’s 4th choice RB before anything will make sense at all.
Re: Michael '3 goals' Keane
Well he was on close to that and signed an extension so I’m not sure what’s so funny?
Will certainly be closer to that than 20k. He is the club captain, remember.
A recruitment strategy led by the manager will always overpay on wages just to keep players around and make his life easier.
Just is what it is. Don’t think I’ll be too far off with my estimate of them both costing us around 150k a week. Maybe overshot a bit, but it will be over 100k at least.
Re: Michael '3 goals' Keane
No, your wrong there, there’s a certain group of people on here who are far more knowledgeable than the manager, maybe they just didnt apply for the job for some reason ?
Re: Michael '3 goals' Keane
Are you ok? You realise this is a forum were people are supposed to provide opinions?

Re: Michael '3 goals' Keane
Who should take the place of Coleman and Keane in the squad? It seems to me people are suggesting we bring in untested kids or no-one.
Re: Michael '3 goals' Keane
Because it's a ludicrous amount of money for a non playing staff member in effect.TheRam wrote: ↑Sat Jul 05, 2025 8:18 pm Well he was on close to that and signed an extension so I’m not sure what’s so funny?

Someone signing a contract extension doesn't necessarily equate to getting the same again, especially on a contract signed years ago for an actual game time player.
We offered Doucoure less who actually had something left to offer on the pitch, so we very obviously wouldn't offer Coleman the same to be a glorified cheerleader / unofficial coach.
Feels like you're just making up stuff to pad out an argument... I get the argument for not retaining Coleman but he most definitely isn't getting anywhere near £70k a week.
Re: Michael '3 goals' Keane
I’m fine thanks, and of course it’s a forum for providing opinions and there are some fantastic posters, some great and some good with equally balanced positive and negative but there are those who have 100% nothing ever positive to say, will simply jump at every opportunity to be sarcastically negative for the sake of it, boils my piss.
Re: Michael '3 goals' Keane
Couldn't meet my wage demands because they've just given Coleman and Keane sentimental contracts.
Their loss.

And the lad saying he’s on 20k isn’t making stuff up?AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 05, 2025 9:10 pm Because it's a ludicrous amount of money for a non playing staff member in effect.

I don’t think you lads have any sort of clue on how any of this works tbh.
The idea that both Keane and Coleman have taken huge reductions on their current contracts is lovely, but not realistic.
Any reductions will be minimal and they’ll still most likely be taking up quite a bit of money for little return on the pitch.
Seems like this is quite hard for some people on here to come to terms with.
