What are you expecting from 2025/26
Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
Top half without any relegation stress would be a good season and a sign of progress considering where we've been at for the last 5 years.
A cup run would be nice as well.

With the squad we have right now avoiding relegation would be great we need at least 5/6 more players and good players able to slot right in I’m starting to flap a bit because time is ticking

Similar position probably without the Spector of relegation, love an Fa cup run last season was good for the competition but think the usual suspects will be back.
Hopefully take advantage of the teams in Europe.

Dont think we will be anywhere near relegation. People are once again over estimating what the 3 coming up are going to be doing.
8th-12th for me. Bed in at the new ground quickly so it doesnt become a burden playing there.
Add more foundations to build on next year.
Claim a few scalps at home, feel we should have had Arsenal, United & Chelsea last season.

11th-15th would be a solid start

Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
Incredibly difficult to say at this stage. We will bring more players in, without doubt and it will really depend on the signings, their quality and whether they address the things lacking in the squad.
In terms of the league as a whole, outside of the very top teams, there's a large group of teams that could finish anywhere between 6th and 16th and there's not a huge amount separating a lot of them. I think that's a good thing, and is more of a testament to the quality of the league than one or two teams getting around 100 points, as has happened previously. It's massively competitive and involves very fine margins.
Some of the positives for us. We have an excellent defence and goalkeeper. We have an experienced manager who is used to working with relatively limited resources. We seem to have found an excellent formula for playing away from home and being very difficult to beat. There's lots of clubs in Europe and some of them will really struggle to cope with the extra games, which provides opportunities for other clubs.
Some of the negatives/unknowns. The squad's clearly not good enough at the moment, so we might have a slower start as we look to bed players in. We're not sure how the new ground will impact things. It could be a big positive right away or it could take some time. Even when we sign players, if we have serious injuries in the squad it will impact us significantly because we don't have the depth of other clubs.
I don't know what to expect at this stage, but I'm hopeful of at least two signings that significantly improve the quality of the first 11, a finish between 8th and 12th, at least one good cup run and maybe a breakout season for Thierno Barry or Harrison Armstrong.

Thinking mid table if we recruit like I expect. No clue based on right this second though

I’m led to believe he’s heading back to Derby with option to recall.Bluedylan1 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 23, 2025 4:14 pm Incredibly difficult to say at this stage. The only thing I'm expecting is that there will be a 'Relegation thread' created at some point.

Re: What are you expecting from 2025/26
I genuinely believe that we could finish anywhere 6th-17th and I feel that way about a lot of clubs. A good run of form with confidence or a new player who really hits the ground running can make a massive difference and suddenly it's already January and an unexpected club is up in the CL spots, we've seen it with:
- Forest in Jan 25 (17th the season before)
- Villa in Jan 24 (7th year before)
- Newcastle in Jan 23 (11th year before)
- Brighton in Jan 22 (16th the season before).
- Us in 2021 (12th the season before)
The reality is that it's so hard for relegated clubs to compete now as the overall standard in the league is much higher so I don't see us in danger of going down - my eyes are looking up the table rather than down.
