So who would have played there otherwise? Mykolenko? Who then plays LB?

Or spend money we need elsewhere on Keane's replacement?

Just such a pointless moan bringing this up time and time again when in reality it's probably good planning for the season that we've got a 4th choice CB ready to go who can just step in and knows the team and what the manager wants.

Bigger things to moan about than Keane playing because we're down to the bare bones.

I'll spend my energy flapping about the fact Branthwaite isn't travelling when teams seem to be throwing around loads of cash for players... Wouldn't be surprised at all if someone's come in for him with a big bid.

Come back to me when he plays the first 10 matches and we concede 20 goals.

To be fair, the main argument for keeping him seemed to be “he will hardly play” well that and the ridiculous argument that he would have took a huge pay cut but here we are looking at the real possibility of him starting the season.

There’s players out there that can cover fullback and centre half who we could have got for cheap back up over keeping Keane.

Is what it is, he’ll play quite a bit if we fail to get full backs in and pay the price.

Your main argument for not signing him was we didn't even need a 4th centre back.

And joint first choice if Tarks and Branthwaite are both out, but that's not really how it works... He's fourth choice but will obviously be in different parts of the pecking order depending on who is available.

'Will hardly play' isn't never play... So are we going to complain about the argument he will hardly play every time he plays, even if it's only a few games here and there.

I guess so given we're already having it because he might play some pre-season games, not even premier league games.

But yeah, could have spent money on replacing him, that's not debatable. Would they be much better given they'd either be coming as 4th choice or backup full back? Would it have made sense to spend money we need elsewhere?

But we've been here before with this argument, limited funds and so much to do Vs fuck it just spend money we might need elsewhere on replacing him. Probably little point rehashing it every time Keane looks like he might play a game.

We didn’t last season, but with Young being gone and no sign of a full back coming in that heightens the chance obrien plays right back which moves Keane up the pecking order.

Is what it is. Nothing we can do about it now but it’s easy to see why people are disappointed at the prospect of starting another season with Keane playing.

Hopefully Brathwaite will be ok.

We'll sign someone for at least one full back position, that's a given... Moyes won't go in to the season with only Mykolenko as the only LB.

But yeah we might not buy an RB, we have to spend elsewhere... I'd rather we spent £35m on a game changing winger than £20m and £15m on an RB.

It is what it is. Just need to start getting the bodies through the door so people have a bit more confidence about what we're doing and optimism for the season ahead.

He’s shite, I don’t want him playing for us and would have done anything to avoid it, whether that’s bringing someone else in to replace him, playing mykolenko centre half or running the risk with three centre halves.
