Flap Levels
Re: Flap Levels
Begining to wonder if we shouldn’t risk a three or six point penalty by going slightly over and get those stragglers done next week.

Re: Flap Levels
It is quite disappointing the state of the squad currently, the fact that we tried to give Ashley Young a contract extension and signed Seamus Coleman who nowadays has a worse injury record than Fabian Delph was probably an indicator that we knew we’d struggle to resolve a lot of the squad issues, both in terms of quality and quantity.
The club will pick up but yeah I can only see it being a slow start to the season with a number of points dropped from very winnable games.

Re: Flap Levels
It oscillated between 0 and 7.
Like yesterday, before the game, it was probably a 5/6. When I heard we were signing Aznou and Fofana, it went down to 0.
Today, having read Fofana has other plans, and seeing that second half last night, straight back up to 7.

I hate this flapping shite, it's become one of those boring forum buzz words and phrases that are briefly amusing then becomes tedious and annoying, up there with the Arteta money this.
Great site lads.

Re: Flap Levels
Reading between the lines of Moyes' post match interview I'm not expecting any signings this week.

Then we should be looking at gettable players rather than dream players. It's not rocket science.Bluebridge wrote: Because the level of player we’re looking at are in no rush, unless we’re spunking money at them, and that’s not the way to do it, look at the past 7 years.
And, yes, there will be gettable players that are considerably better than what we have, certainly in CM Garner??, RB Patterson??, and obviously RW.
We just haven't identified them, or even worse, are messing about with unrealistic targets.
To not be ready for Leeds and potentially throw away the first 3 games AGAIN is absolutely amateur considering how long we've known the situation this summer.
Re: Flap Levels
I'm not at flap, just disappointed that we'll get off to a shit start to the season and in the new stadium. Pleased we are going for the profile of players we're in for, pleased Moshiri has gone, pleased Moyes is on it, pleased we're no longer financially fucked.
Re: Flap Levels
Yeah the whole flap thing is derogatory isn't it really and used as a way of diminishing or dismissing sonetimes legitimate feelings

I’m sure we have identified them, there'll be a list they’ve identified, they’ll also be a top and a bottom to that list and we work through them.Blues Mahoney wrote: ↑Sun Jul 27, 2025 9:27 am Then we should be looking at gettable players rather than dream players. It's not rocket science.

Re: Flap Levels
There’s flapping and then there’s being very disappointed in what we have done so far. I am sure there is plenty being done in the background, but from an execution standpoint, barely anything has been done.
Clearly there have been many changes to the structure at the club, which I understand and is a reasonable mitigation for not signing more players by now.
However, we knew this situation was coming 6 months ago. Moyes and the hierarchy knew it with the amount of players out of contract. And yet here we are.
That can be nothing but a failure from the club. We still have plenty of time to bring players into the club in this window, but they will have a very small pre-season and it leaves a serious amount of work to do in a short period of time.

Re: Flap Levels
Personally haven't been arsed this summer, too busy enjoying other stuff. There's no denying it's been a shit show this window so far, we barely have a squad and the current first 11 would undoubtedly be in a relegation battle at best if that's what we go with. Disappointing after finishing last season positively and moving to a beautiful new stadium. The Friedkins need to pull something special out in the last few weeks of the window, but I'm not confident we won't end up with a couple of squad fillers and the starting 11 will somehow be worse than we ended last season.
