Talking to a friend this morning (spurs fan)
He thinks it’s just the same for all clubs, VAR is shocking but everyone is getting bad calls.
I hung up tbh cos I can’t be fucking bothered explaining why he doesn’t have a clue.

I don't think Spurs fans have had much to complain about, they even had that Liverpool goal ruled out because VAR seriously fucked up.
Aside from us, Wolves might be the one who've also had a decent amount of VAR incidents, starting from their first game away to Man Utd when they should've got the penalty at the end, and it happened to them a few times after that too.
It's probably (as most refereeing decisions/errors are) not actually evenly spread out and instead are more punitive of the teams outside the top 6/7 (despite what your typical top 6 fan might think). Mind you I think Brighton had a fair number last season.

I also HATE it when people say that it evens itself out over the season.
Does it fuck...

It's like any form of privilege.
If you don't notice it and don't see it as an issue, the likelihood is you're benefitting from it.

Re: What a VARce
I think people hoped var would stop the bigger sides getting the benefit of the doubt. If anything it's gotten worse. They spend an age looking for ways to give decisions against the lesser sides. No way salah or haaland would have gotten sent off last night. The penalty we didn't get against City a couple of seasons ago was criminal
We haven't got a game for a bit. Should loan dcl to a lower league side with 2 or 3 games before we play again. Then recall him.

Re: What a VARce
Wolves is a very fair shout about a team who have been hammered by it. Again, living round here, I obviously hear it more but the non pen against United, the ridiculous pen given to Luton V Wolves when it deflected off the lad's leg, the pen given late on against Hwang Hee Chan (I think v Fulham).
They have had their share definitely. The Luton penalty was perhaps the most absurd as one view of VAR clearly showed it deflected off his leg first and the rule specifically rules that out as being a pen if the ball deflects from another part of your body onto the arm/hand.
And you are right, it doesn't even itself out. Human error at full speed is one thing but when the ref gets it right (e.g. DCL), VAR wrongly correcting the ref is absolutely infuriating. I would bin it off completely. Goal line technology works because it is factual and not subjective but VAR has spectacularly not worked.
And while this shouldn't be a factor, I think the fact the two worst affected teams are managed by Dyche and O'Neil who can't get near Pep, Klopp and Arteta for histrionic over reactions is not a coincidence either.

In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream.

I would be amazed if any team has benefited more from var than spurs
Remember one game last season against Brighton where they won 2-1 and there were 5, yeah thats right 5 decisions with brighton goals scored that were chalked off or cast iron pens not given that were wrong.
It was unbelievable

Re: What a VARce
It's hard to believe in a conspiracy that involves ensuring we don't get past Crystal Palace in a third round FA Cup tie.
