Got to say I am really looking forward to taking my dad for his very expensive seat unique birthday treat on Sunday.

Sandhills experience
Expensive food
No bogs
Shite atmosphere
Crap team
(It'll probably rain too)

I cannot wait!

The atmosphere in the upper south is terrible.

There’s a woman next to me with her grandkids telling people to sit down every game. Go the family stand then.

People streaming out on 80 minutes every single game.

Doesn’t seem to be many season ticket holders round me as well as there’s always different people sitting round me.

It’s just constantly flat. Being told to sit down all the time is really testing me.

Whilst we're at it, jib that pre-match light show thing they had going on with the 'Right here, Right now'. Felt like I was at an American sports event with the fake atmosphere building.

I'm so happy I'm the back row of the South Upper, I haven't sat in my seat once.

Mad that people are getting told to sit down for a corner. Top Balcony behaviour that.

Its grim i think.

Was almost whispering to roxy against villa cos it was that flat and quiet.

No one staying standing and being told to sit cos cant see etc.

I honestly am hating it and want to be back at.goodison :(

The park end had a well better atmosphere than the upper south.
I'm there and it's very similar to where I was sat in the upper gwladys, everyone sat down all game except for the odd outburst at the ref/dyche/beto or for a goal.

Almost everyone I sat near has transplanted to that space, I see the same faces I did at Goodison. They'll join in with a song but they aren't going to stand all game.

Seeing as we're owned by Americans, I'd think there will be more over time, not less

It’s far from grim, simply new and people need time to adjust.

If you went back to goodison for a women’s game or that I’m sure you’d appreciate the new ground more

Does anyone know if they sell hotdogs inside the ground?

They were for the 2nd test event, and I haven't seen em since.

I thought the crowd came across quite loud on the tv, I mean there were quiet periods but when the crowd got going it sounded good

Yeah there was a small kiosk in the west stand doing loaded hot dogs was dead nice. They’ve opens up access from upper south to wrap all around now so more options for scran last night

Let's not pretend Goodison didn't suffer from a shit atmosphere when it was a poor game. Most stadiums in England do. 99% of away fans sing those shite 'library', 'shall we sing a song for you' songs nearly everywhere they go.

Top tier English football has been sanitised to the nth degree. We'll get the odd bear pit game, but until we have a team that plays a way that gets people off their seat it's a losing battle. Everyone is in agreement that manufactured atmospheres are crap, but left to their own devices, your average fan is just going to sit there with a face like thunder, moaning about there being no atmosphere.

What we are missing, and I hope it changes soon, is The 1878 and their displays. They were great for Goodison over the past few seasons. I've read that funding is a bit of an issue for them. Would be great if the club could help subsidise them.
