Don’t think we’ve had a particularly easy start? We’ve faced some good teams in this run, the main exceptions being Wolves and West Ham. The issue really is that there are few nailed on games as the promoted teams are a lot better.

I think we have:

Away to a very average Leeds
Home to a very average Brighton (12th)
Away to a terrible Wolves
Home to a very average Villa (in horrible form at the time)
Home to a terrible West Ham
Home to a pretty average Spurs team considering half their side are out injured

Only the shite (debatable currently), City and Palace were in any type of form.

How much easier does it get? Be honest not much.

Honestly, I think we'll be on about 23 points at the halfway stage, and that is trouble in my book.

Moyes will figure it out, seems like he's persevering because he wants certain players in the team but he's not as stubborn as someone like Dyche and will change it once he's certain the current set up isn't working.

We can all see it so he will hopefully sooner than later. Garner to RB, Rohl to CM, Alcaraz for KDH.

Leeds average, agreed. They were at home and just promoted and those teams are always tricky, also took a non penalty for them to win.
Brighton finished 8th last year and in recent history are much more balanced a team than us.
Wolves sure.
Villa just beat Man City, and finished 6th. Just as they were having trouble scoring doesn't make them average.
West Ham, sure, bit unlucky with their new manager mini-bounce. Probably our worst result of the games we've played.
Spurs currently 3rd and unbeaten away from home.
Liverpool were winning every game at that point.
Man City are still good and were at home.
Palace were on a crazy unbeaten run.

There are a lot of tough games in the schedule when the 3 promoted teams aren't actually completely useless. Those teams are a smattering of top and bottom teams though. On current standings, 5 of the 9 games have been from teams in the top half of the table, 4 bottom half.

So just an average set of fixtures overall I'd say.

He is absolutely is as stubborn. He's always shoehorned his favourites in to the detriment of the team.

So I don't agree and think that the run we have coming up now is harder, but each to their own. You have your opinion, I have mine. Neither is necessarily right, it's just opinions.

Losing at home and the £40m winger sits on the bench unmoved.

A CB at RB and a pretend LB on the other side. A LB on the bench who apparently is not ready and a RB on the bench who was apparently worth a new contract but never plays.

Two strikers that are pretty much useless. One of which cost £27m this summer.

Honestly, there's so much left to do that I don't think I could really say.

As is, this squad has a very good chance of going down. Maybe it goes down swinging, almost purely because of the Moyes effect, but it is too thin and too poor, with some big availability issues e.g. afcon.

Up front - I will never ever slag them for making the Barry gamble, we have to gamble a bit to access some upside and I will take the u23 potential star gamble every day of the week....but neither him or Beto are ready to lead a line in the prem and I worry that will be badly exposed in small boring ways - not having complete stinkers, not missing massive opportunities, just...the side being slightly disfunctional and unable to maintain any sense of control.

I like them both and it could definitely go the other way, I'm backing Barry to be quite an explosive addition to the league, but I think it is definitely possible that we're sat here ina few weeks going - ah this might be an issue this.

There's so, so much to do im afraid, but we're bang in it as it stands.

Losing to the teams that are better than us and have better squads. Getting results against the mid to lower table teams. Its the Moyes way. Nothing much has changed and I can't see us troubling the top half. The question is do we have enough to stay 10th to 14th. I'm not sure.
