David Moyes

David Moyes, speaking to EvertonTV, said " Look, we competed really well in the game and should have scored a couple of goals early on through Beto or Jack. Their goals were really poor. 2 set pieces. We've got to be defending a lot better. They're a top side and we showed some positive signs to compete but obviously the result isn't what it should be. And I must say if the likes of Lizz and TheRam moaned less about the stadium and just tucked into their blue doughnuts then the players would probably feel the pressure less but I guess some people would rather spend 90 minutes crying about 2 tiers instead."

Well he has got that wrong as well because I have not been moaning about the two tiers specifically.
Absolutely deaf as well as blind our Moyes.

Re: David Moyes
Unfortunately as we have seen before moyes isn’t known for drastic changes I bet the team for Sunderland on Monday is the same as spurs
Re: David Moyes
Interesting listening to Paddy Boyle on the Blue Room podcast, says we were very keen on Palhinha but obviously once Spurs came in we had no chance, which I'd already heard elsewhere around that time... but the main point was how we wanted him at least in part because of his height and physical dominance.
This is why we then looked at Soucek before going for Rohl.
As it stands, we have Gana, Garner, Grealish, KDH and Ndaiye where none are physically imposing or particularly tall.
This might explain why Moyes is persevering with Jake at RB as if we remove him then we lose one of the main set piece components both offensively and defensively.
I think the main takeaway though is that if we've bought Rohl because he's tall then hopefully that means we have every intention of him starting regularly once he's proven his fitness.
Whether that means Moyes would be comfortable removing Jake from RB if he have the extra height of Rohl in the team I'm not sure, I wouldn't be surprised if we see both playing because Moyes is more likely to go with that than not imo.
The lack of height would probably explain why we didn't look at KWP or Lamptey, plus wage demands were crazy for KWP at £125k a week.
I hope he does remove Jake from RB though as Moyes wanted all these attacking players to help us score more goals, but as we've all seen that isn't effective when the full backs are not able to contribute going forward or create space for the wide players to have more chance of making something happen.

Re: David Moyes
He’ll make changes.
Just like he didn’t play tim the other week when everyone convinced themselves he would.
He’s not going to see us lose 3-0 and not change some things.

Re: David Moyes
Hopefully he stumbles into a line up that works.
I can't see him changing the classic Moyes 20 year old 4-5-1 though.

Re: David Moyes
Pickford
Coleman Keane Tarkowski Mykolenko
Garner Gana
Ndiaye Alcaraz Grealish
Beto -
- We have no choice but Mykolenko given Aznou sounds miles off.
- Coleman as he's fit then he should be playing because JOB isn't working anymore and we're too easy to defend again on the wings with him and Myko.
- KDH doesn't offer enough in the 10. Alcaraz is not only direct but shares a bit of the chaos with Beto and we've seen them link up well together in the past. Even against Palace, it was those two that turned the game for us. Palace and Fulham away last season too. He gives the opposition something to worry about rather than just doubling up on Grealish and Ndiaye.
- Beto links up well with Charly. Barry just isn't in the game enough and tbh I think coming off the bench would be better for him anyway.
I actually don't care that much about whatever combination of Garner, Gana, Rohl or KDH is in the middle.

Re: David Moyes
It really is crazy that Coleman isnt playing. If he can play twice in a week for Ireland, then he can play for us ffs. I feel so bad for O'Brien.
I just cant see Moyes dropping Garner or KDH any time soon. Unfortunately.

Re: David Moyes
I think he'll leave as is for the next 2 games, then we play Utd so it won't matter who gets dropped or picked as that a guaranteed lose ..
