I see Liam Delap got sent off for two stupid yellows last night. He looked hotheaded when we played Ipswich last season
Re: Today's Football 2025-26
Knew the Chelsea move would be the death of his career.
Done a fat pile of fuck all since joining.

Re: Today's Football 2025-26
I think Chelsea is such a risky move for any young player. They are constantly buying, constantly changing personnel, shipping players on loan and back - how do you know where you stand? Players are treated like commodities more than anywhere else, they are people second at that club. Obviously they are grossly overpaying contacts in a lot of cases, so there is the attraction, but from a footballing point of view it is a risk at best and disaster at worst. Obviously Delap still has time, but the list of players going there and coming out worse off is lengthening all the time.
There is pretty much no sense of identity at that club anymore. For me they epitomise everything wrong with modern football and IMO are the first club in England that has completely lost its soul to greed. Stamford Bridge is such a nothing stadium too, every time I've been there I've never felt a sense of community or like it really feels like anyone's home, I've never really felt that at any other stadium (except the monstrosity West Ham play in of course).

"After the first yellow card I told him [Delap] four or five times to keep calm. But Liam is a player who, when he's on the pitch, is probably playing the game for himself and struggles to realise and listen to those around him."
Basically calling him selfish and stupid in the same article.
I just watched the highlights too, I don't know how he avoided a straight red.

Re: Today's Football 2025-26
comes to everton on lean in january and reignites his ipswich form and the rest will be history
a stronger man to man manager like davy moyes is what he needs - will sort his attitude out and solve our CF issue
delap needs to start every game and not be a bench warmer at chelsea and his confidence will come back asap

Re: Today's Football 2025-26
One of the main reasons I didn't want Delap when we were linked was because of how easily Tarks got in his head when we played them, and how he spent half the game being too distracted by trying to be a faux tough guy instead of beating our player with good play.
Saying that I'd have him on loan in a heartbeat given what I've watched from our strikers this season, but I think that speaks more of them than of Delap tbf.
