You seem to forget we tried and failed to buy FIVE wingers all who would have added that much needed pace. Five who rejected us. I have posted their names before but it's been a while and my memory is crap so I've forgotten most of them now, but if someone can be arsed I'm sure they could dig them up.
We could have bought someone a bit shit who was fast, Dan James or Traore but what's the point in that when long term it just hampers us?
We didn't buy Dibling because we desperately wanted him, he bought him because we were desperate due to out first choice five wingers all with pace took one look at us and rightly were like 'bollocks to that'.
Manager needs to do more, he's got good players at his disposal but continues to flog a dead horse of hoping a strong defence means we'll have a chance of sneaking a win when there's ways and means of setting us up to be more balanced and have a more creative way of opening up teams that doesn't involve hoping Grealish or Ndaiye can beat three men and get a cross in that Beto magically gets a decent touch on.
Yet pretty much every other team has pace. Its just excuses. We tried we failed so we bought this lot that doesn't function as a team. When are we going to stop trying and failing. Lots of other teams by unproven players who contribute now and have sell on value. We have excuses and hopes for the future
We bought dibbling who doesn't play for 40m because 5 players rejected us. Surely that doesn't sound like a sound way to build a team.
The truth is our scouting is shocking shit. We are inept at identifying players who will improve us and are willing to play for us. Other teams don't consistently buy so poorly. When was our last genuinely good window.

So do you believe Moyes is getting the best out of these players and using them to the best of their ability?

Probably not. I think alcaraz should be playing but again that says we probably shouldn't have bothered with KDH. Think alcaraz gets the best out of beto too. I do however think we could have just done without most of the players we bought. Doesn't make moyes perfect. In fact I tend to hold him partly we responsible for the window too
He’s not got the right balance in terms of the players he’s picking but in terms of how we’re trying to play and how we’re set up i have no issues.
Think he’s showing why he’s still at the top of the game at his age whilst most of his contemporaries from back in the day are doing Uber eats adverts.
He’s always evolving and looking at how he can get overloads going forward.
I’m actually enjoying seeing things like a fluid three behind the striker looking to get on the ball instead of running around cluelessly doing nothing but putting shit crosses in the box, or seeing our left back taking up very attacking positions to create space for our winger, instead of hardly crossing the halfway line.
Issue is the players he’s picking. Desperately need Alcaraz in that three getting shots off and making runs in behind, and bless mykolenko playing as an attacking inverted full back.
The solutions are there I think it’s up to him to see them.

He’ll eventually find the right mix of players and we’ll hit an excellent run of form and pick up a ton of points. We’ve all seen this show before.
You do forget how infuriating it is waiting for him to work it out though.
Said it earlier but it's usually caused by injuries and having to change things rather than any great tactical genius from Moyes.
Fair play to him, I've never been his greatest fan but he's lasting well in the game. It wasn't so long ago Mark Hughes was a young up and coming manager at Man City giving it the 'big I am' to Moyes, look at their careers now and Hughes is managing Carlisle United on the National League.

Injuries accelerate the timeline but he does tinker… slowly, after something hasn’t worked for 4-5 games.
I think he weighs training performance heavily in team selections which is a big factor in why the changes come so slowly. The top pros keep getting in regardless of match performance until it’s blatantly unworkable.
It's a poor effort but trying to put a finger on one of things I think we are missing, especially without Doucs, and it's like...general combative nature of the middle of the pitch in the prem.
Picked 3 random teams and checked their top CMs (to the best of my knowledge) for headed duals won per 90 compared to us.
I think in the prem to win games regularly you need to be able to smash people, compete for the ball in the air, chase people, and run up the other end with enough gas to let the good players do their thing, and I think we are just...little fannies aren't we. Get Rohler Kohler in there I reckon.
Spurs
Sarr 2.22
Palinho 1.84
Bentancur 1.54

Zubi 1.70
Rice 1.46
Merino 1.39 (altho, striker)

Gueye 0.82
KDH 0.89
Garner 0.56

KDH has been a hideous signing. Partly cos hes a bit shit with no sell on value and partly because hes pushed alcaraz out who at least makes things happen sometimes

Outside of West Ham we must have the slowest and weakest midfield in the league.
You can’t compete without a physical monster in there these days, or at least an Alcaraz type who’ll buzz about winning second balls.
Defo need the big German in there and I think moyes won’t hesitate to start him when he’s ready.
