Did a DCL job tonight and sometimes that's what you need, especially when you know it'd have been a very different story if Beto had been playing.

FT: Man Utd 0-1 Everton
Everton striker Thierno Barry won 14 aerial duels in the game, two more than any other player in a Premier League game this season.

I thought it was 16 but must have remembered the graphic wrong. He won a header defending a corner after that, do they not count?Free Agent wrote: ↑Mon Nov 24, 2025 10:46 pm FT: Man Utd 0-1 Everton

Re: Thierno Barry
The difference between him and Beto when he came off was massive. There can only be one player we put our time and effort into now.
Re: Thierno Barry
Very very good tonight.
I hope he knows that those kind of performances are just as worthy as ones that involve goals and assists. Fighting for every ball and chasing everything down away from home is the bedrock of getting results. Keep it up Thierno.

Re: Thierno Barry
He needs a goal, and then we can see where he goes from there. For all his good work and headers won, he never looked sharp enough to receive anything put to him, and that sadly meant later on he was consistently ignored by the ball carriers.
I just think there is a massive gap between what we need and what Barry is or has shown to this point.
I'm unchanged in thinking a striker in January is vital for a good second half of the season.

Re: Thierno Barry
People might disagree with me, and fair enough, but I'd like to see him chase down the keeper a bit more.
A bit of the old Dennis about him. Sometimes I feel he can just put a bit more pressure on them.
I get the feeling he knows most of the time its worthless, and it shows.

Yeah Beto's only real strength is that willingness to chase anything and everything, and he does that little thing really well. Barry looks a lot more isolated and static up there.Deano Blue Boy wrote: ↑Tue Nov 25, 2025 11:35 am People might disagree with me, and fair enough, but I'd like to see him chase down the keeper a bit more.
