Financial Fairplay Investigation - 2025 Nobody in Breach
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Deducted 10 points
It is not us the EPL is out to get, we are simply the low-hanging fruit, patsy, stooge, etc in a very heavy-handed last-minute bid to appear tough in what looks more and more a vain attempt to avoid external regulation. It appears they are losing the PR battle on this one as the majority of the media is questioning the fairness and the motivation of these charges and punishments.
Is it fair to be charged twice over the same period? To be punished for the rising costs of BMD (as we argue)? That we and Forest face summary justice while (more or less) cooperating with the system yet City are allowed to keep pushing any problem away as they clearly do everything to frustrate any investigation? Most are unequivocal in the belief that if we were a "super league" level club this simply would not be happening. Threaten the very existence of the English pyramid? Bad boy, slap on the wrist, a few million in fines. Over-spend by the cost of a half-decent Championship midfielder while investing in a massive capital investment that will have a long term financial benefit for a region? Down you go!
It is hard to argue against this whether it is a conspiracy theory or not. Is it any coincidence that we are charged for a second time the day before Masters appears before the DCMS? It will be interesting to see if the politicians will raise our case (although the main subject is the failure to reach a money sharing deal with the EFL). The committe is public from 10:00 and I think is available live online (and I said I was burying my head in the sand...Everton will kill me).

Yeah thought so, man.TheRam wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 8:35 am Oh yeah.
I laugh at the thought of us being any sort of threat.
I think the only feasible theory is the premier league are scared of the regulator investigating the whole of the league and wanting to know why they allowed a criminal to fund us from the shadows.
This grief I’m feeling is making me slow on the uptake, so apologies for being a bit dimmer than usual.

Which ever way you turn it the blame and shame fall solely with the management of the club ie: the owner and the board over the past years.
However, The PL need to be held accountable for the total shambles that they've put together with these obscure "FFP Rules" and the subsequent administration and management of them.
-There doesn't seem to be any logic behind them
-There doesn't appear to be any concise "penalties" that can be put on offenders
- They've changed the "ringfence" of the rules twice since their inception
-they've changed the accounting period from a fiscal accounting year to a Calender year ? which doesn't suit any business accounting process.
- They're once again scrapping the process and procedures at the end of the season, which is in itself an admission they're not workable
These people need to be brought to heel legally and subsequently got rid of out of a game that was once beautiful to becoming a bureaucratic, financial and legal hierocracy !!

They've not changed the accounting period. Its still July-June, they've just asked for the accounts to be disclosed sooner than before so that they can try and act in the first season after that rather than what happened with us first time where it wasn't able to be completed before the end of the season.4evablu wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 10:25 am Which ever way you turn it the blame and shame fall solely with the management of the club ie: the owner and the board over the past years.

Rick Parry's doing a great job of making Masters look inept and self-serving.

Wasn't it reported that "year end" would be December? Clubs then had 2 week to present the accounts ?Goaljira wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 10:40 am They've not changed the accounting period. I may be wrong?

No. They had until Dec 31st to finalise and audit their accounts, and then 2 weeks to present to the league.
