Moyes is so clever how he gets the best out of players like ossie Cahill etc shades of ossie in how he is developing garner

It’s lovely to see us 5th/6th but it means so much more to be getting good performances and results.

There is a consistency about how we play, with some good patterns of play developing. I know how we are going to set up and what to expect. I also know that we are going to be competitive against any team we come up against. These are all huge improvements from previous seasons.

Chelsea away is a real progress check. We have a rotten record at Stamford Bridge and if we can go there and get a win then it might just start becoming a little exciting.

He's a good manager generally, but he's an excellent Everton manager. I honestly think that. Some combinations of players/managers and clubs just work, and this is one.

What a fucking manager.

No right to be even dreaming of 5th. And no doubt we'll level out a bit and drop some places eventually, but what a job he's doing with still a very limited, unbalanced squad that needs plenty of work.

Yeah massive respect for a job very well done since he came in.

Imagine what we could do with a couple of signings?!

Will we finish 5th?? No. Probably not. But to be in and around the top is much better

Best thing about today it was just a very “Everton performance” and that saying from the twenty Years has a Moyes blueprint

He's talking about going for Europe which is the attitude you want

He now seems to have reached the point where he’s no longer worried about going down so his tone has changed. It’s good to see. We can hopefully approach the next two games with a different mentality.

Some mainly good analysis and stills on shape, which make up for the slightly jarring commentary

I'm very happy to see us sitting in 7th and at the right end of the table, god knows it's been too long. I think it's fair to point out with Chelsea and Arsenal next that we are also only 2 points ahead of Newcastle who are 12th.

It's still early in the season and we have decent fixtures after that, so hopefully we will be competing for the last places of Europe this season.

No need to have a meltdown if we're 12th at Christmas.
