"Why possession adjustment matters: Defenders on low-possession teams naturally face more defending. Adjusting for possession isolates defensive efficiency per unit of defensive exposure, not just workload."

Interesting stat, I mean, I think Moyes would be happy to avoid letting forwards run at his CBs and if balls are coming into the box or shots are coming in at range to allow us to block, then thats bread and butter for Tarkowski. I think high score relates to the team being well drilled at making teams play in the right area to suit our strengths. I guess. I'm a big fan of Tarks though, I know others arent.

I’ve seen teams hammering us with shots over the last three seasons and I know whatever is happening this season it’s a lot better than what’s gone before.

Did we?

Does anyone think the Arsenal players were on the coach/plane home going "Lads, bloody hell that was a tough one"?

I'll be surprised if that isn't their easiest away match of the season so far.

This issue is Moyes sees a narrow 0-1 defeat against Arsenal as a result. He doesn't judge his season by how he does against the top 6, just by what he does against the rest. Which by default means you'll never be anything other than a mid table side at best if you write off the best part of 30pts a season. It's just the way he is. He said the same after the Chelsea game. He'll never change.

It is the simple conclusion but I’m not giving up hope. He’s had less than a year and one transfer window. Given what he inherited, did we expect to be challenging the top 6? We finished 4th to 8th in 9 out of 12 seasons in his first spell. The last 7 were all between 5th and 8th.

Maybe new owners and the fast start on his return have us expecting too much? Enjoy this season without looking over our shoulders and start to dial up expectations for next season, whether that’s under Moyes or someone else, who knows?

Had three of our best players out.

With the players available, playing top of the league what was anyone expecting?

Yeah i thought we did fine really. Sort of dragged them into a poor game. Barring the stupid handball might of got a point

I think we are just so desperate to kick on. Unfortunately we might have to write off the next season or 2 before we do. The frustrations around our new signings not contributing really doesn't help though

Would have been nice, but that’s the best defence in Europe and we were severely depleted.

We were fine. Just move on from it.

I'm not too bothered or concerned about it, just think you'll see more attacking intent from lower league teams against them in the cups this season than us last night.

Could easily have lost that 0-3 last night without them getting out of first gear or looking anything special. Don't see any positives in that performance at all.

Just a pointless match in more ways than one.
