Patto will want to get one over Dyche after slapgate.
We could go Seamus until he breaks, Patto, until he breaks, Dixon, until he breaks, then move Jimmy G back there when we’re cruising at 3-0 after a Barry hat trick 😃

I think at this point I'd trust Garner at RB and Patterson at CM more than Patterson at RB and Garner in CM.

I'd throw Patterson on for a run of games after that tonight.

It's like putting Tarkowski at RB now.

It worked for a bit of the experiment is over.

I'd recall Armstrong just to get Garner at RB

Yeah i think we're actually damaging him now as well by hanging him out to dry at right back. I feel for him because he's so clearly not cut out to be a full back, but yesterday he was terrible and the handball was absolutely ridiculous.

I really fucking feel for him

It's absolutely unfair

He's a good CB and this RB shite is just killing him

No accounting for that brain fart though, RB or not, that was stupidly dumb.

Played perfectly well at CB against Bournemouth.

Put in more than many great displays there for Ireland.

Penalty brain fart aside judging him by this current stint of being flogged at right back due to the clubs inept ability to find one in the past 10 years is moronic.

He's absolutely fine and I hope given time he gets a run where he is supposed to actually be played.

Long term I reckon it'll still do him more good than harm playing this role. It's very clearly not a sustainable long term plan but in terms of his development as a CB bringing the ball out from the back it'll most likely end up being a good thing.

Awful to watch right now but down the line it will help him become a better ball playing CB.

Got to stop hanging the lad out to dry at RB now. Garner has to be moved there and we have to have some kind of balance to our play on that side. You can have a 6’5” lad flying down the wing expecting him to do both jobs effectively.

You can’t safely take Garner out of the midfield with Gana away, though.

It’s less than ideal but he’s in there because he’s fairly pacy, solid positionally, and good in duels.

It’s infuriating when he shanks a cross but I think it would be more infuriating if Patterson was getting outpaced by everyone while not knowing where to stand and not winning many 50/50s (which is what he’s shown us repeatedly).

Failure of recruitment for sure and I’d like to see him dropped from that role when we can accommodate Garner there without our midfield going to bits but it’s the correct decision for now.

Some real exciting potential in a future Branthwaite/O’Brien partnership. Big, athletic, decent with the ball. I hope we actually get to see it sometime soon.

Patto is much much faster thank Jake, he's just....he's not playing for Everton again.
