Carlos Alcaraz
Re: Carlos Alcaraz
Making me eat my words here. I thought he warranted a few games to see what he can do. Tonight wasn't a good start....

Re: Carlos Alcaraz
Awful first half but was better second half, thought he helped us apply some intensity and that period of the second half was probably our best part of the game. We lost a bit of that with the subs.
He is a bit chaotic, and prone to a loose pass of late but with KDH out we do need someone who is going to keep running and pressing.

Re: Carlos Alcaraz
He needs a bit more time. KDH took 5 games to get up to a consistent level, i seem to recall a few shouts of him being a waste of money. Giving Alcaraz a 3 game window to displace him, he's going to naturally try to be everywhere, impress, probably overreach and make the odd mistake.
I think some players are natural bench warmers, accept their lot and do a job when called up. Charley strikes me as the opposite, and that can produce a mixed bag of performances when he has a limited window to get on the ball, pull a worldy off and displace the first player on the team sheet.
Re: Carlos Alcaraz
I hope Moyes sticks with him for the Burnley game... Yes he had an absolute shocker against Arsenal but maybe he just needs a great game here to turn it around. Tim also had an absolute horror show and seems to have bounced back from it, so I'd love him to start and show what he can do in this match.
Another poor performance though and I don't think he recovers from it in Moyes' eyes. Time for a big performance and to show what he is actually capable of.
