I'm fine with it. We spend hours banging on about the squad issues at the start of the season, then we lose 5-6 key players, we're lacking full backs and we start dropping points, of course we do. But ... we're mid table and picked up a decent point away from home with a paper thin squad. Commitment was there, clean sheet, could have won a fairly even game. The predicted leage position people were calling out at the start of the season was mid-table and currently we're 11th.... 3 points away from the European spots.

Shite gane, but I'm happy, looking forward to getting our best players back and kicking on, i'll see if we can pinch top 8 by the end of the season.

Im fine with the result, its understandable given the team we fielded. The issue for me though is we've done a relatively expensive window and even when everyone is fit all the same problems remain

I see people saying we are on for 50-55 points and thats progress but we were going at that rate the 2nd half of last season. So we've stood still after that transfer window really.

No Gana, Branthwaite, N’Diaye, KDH or Grealish or a right back today. That’s half a first XI to fill and trying to replace your best players is always tough. But nevertheless shows a massive gulf in quality within the squad.

If we want to challenge for Europe and play in more competitions, then squad depth has to be a priority. You can’t drop from Grealish to McNeil and expect to compete.

Moyes bringing on Patterson must have hurt. Literally the last senior outfield player he had at his disposal.

From a surface level view its a disappointing result against a poor side.

But when you look at the starting XI there are maybe 3 or 4 who we'd want in our ideal XI. Half of them wouldn't even be on the bench.

Pickford is one.
We want new full backs.
Neither of the starting CBs would be if you take Branthwaite and JOB as the future.
Then maybe Garner playing in CM with Gana and KDH in front, or Dibling on the right with N'Diaye in the 10 if KDH moves back.

There's still so much to do with this squad its just going to be a case of just accepting disappointment in the interim.
