Re: David Moyes
Was so frustrating to watch. Found myself thinking when Rohl went on that little charge and got to like 40 yards out and stopped that If he would have just pea rolled it straight at Raya I would have been more satisfied then him just stopping and passing backwards
That Alcaraz shot that flew wide just after the Barry pen incident was the only attempt I remember us having all game
Definitely part of it is to do with Moyes approach to these types of games , though I do also appreciate it was a tough ask with the players we had out
Their goal was like half an hour in, so with a full hour left it felt like we just went ‘ah well let’s just try keep it at 1-0’ - which is majorly depressing, and also angered me considering I’d paid £70 to watch it!

Re: David Moyes
I was surprised to see that they came and went by plane, just as I was arriving at John Lennon Airport at 11.30pm via Merseyrail from Sandhills to Liverpool South Parkway and the number 86a bus to JLA (Hampton Inn) their Ellisons Hospitality coach was arriving having been escorted by two police outriders, must have had a bit of a stay behind at BMD. Can’t imagine flying to Luton or Stansted would be any quicker than just staying on the coach back to London.
Re: David Moyes
What's a bus to London, 4-5 hours? Charter flight, straight on, no queues from JLA to London about 30-40 minutes maybe.
Re: David Moyes
I hate how he uses his bench.
For all the things I like and respect about him, he remains one of the worst in the biz on this front.
If we have problems that “try harder” won’t solve, they aren’t getting solved mid-match.

Re: David Moyes
A lower league team would’ve got physical with them as well, get stuck in, hassle them, try and put them off their game. We gave away what, three fouls the whole game whilst they racked up a season high number of passesShogun wrote: ↑Sun Dec 21, 2025 12:58 pm I'm not too bothered or concerned about it, just think you'll see more attacking intent from lower league teams against them in the cups this season than us last night.
Could easily have lost that 0-3 last night without them getting out of first gear or looking anything special. Don't see any positives in that performance at all.
Just a pointless match in more ways than one.
Re: David Moyes
A lower league team playing them in the cup would have literally nothing to lose.
A point against one of the best teams in Europe, whilst we're playing our B side, is something to plan for, and arguably should have acheived. Consistency of performance is another. Some of these games are going to be played at our level, not the possible/likely champions' level. We certainly won't be outplaying them at their game and winning.
And he's merely trying to keep some positivity going in what appears to be, after the last half a decade, an exhausted and disillussioned fanbase that want a dopamine hit rather than sustained improvement to performance, and a tired squad that just want better.

Re: David Moyes
Well I drive it in average 3.5 hrs, at that time of night definately no more, would, have taken them 30-40 mins from BMD to JLA , no way can you get up and down to LON in 30-40 mins, they don’t clear air space for Arsenal, then from Stansted or Luton to their training ground in Conley , where they will have met and left their cars, doubt they gain more than an hour if that, rather than just napping on the bus.
Re: David Moyes
What are you specifically upset by? The environmental impact? The cost? The fact that the time saving is not as significant enough to make it worthwhile?Escalator wrote: ↑Sun Dec 21, 2025 9:45 pm Well I drive it in average 3.5 hrs, at that time of night definately no more, would, have taken them 30-40 mins from BMD to JLA , no way can you get up and down to LON in 30-40 mins, they don’t clear air space for Arsenal, then from Stansted or Luton to their training ground in Conley , where they will have met and left their cars, doubt they gain more than an hour if that, rather than just napping on the bus.
Their flight took 32 minutes by the way. Easily checked on Flightradar if you're really in to their flight.

Not upset in the least by anything, it was simply an observation.Risky wrote: ↑Sun Dec 21, 2025 10:05 pm What are you specifically upset by? The environmental impact? The cost? The fact that the time saving is not as significant enough to make it worthwhile?

Re: David Moyes
Wonder what it is that prevents us from putting together counters? Surely not JUST pace?
Could do with moyesy working on this. We do look extremely disconnected on the break.
Mad when you watch a good side, when they break everything speeds up, pass pass pass and they're through, bouncing passes off deep midfielders or knocking it between opposition players to create the angle and then then BAM vertical go go go.
Watch us and it's just....can we hit Barry from 50 yards? Can Charly carry it by himself? A Moyes issue this for me.

Re: David Moyes
It's both a lack of pace out wide and a target man who can hold it up and bring others in to play.brap2 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 29, 2025 10:15 am Wonder what it is that prevents us from putting together counters? Surely not JUST pace?

We just have no out ball that is conducive to fast paced counter attacking football.
Re: David Moyes
Yeah pace, or lack of. We have 2 wide men that are exceptional at providing an outball, holding on to it and winning fouls. That has really helped avoid sustained periods of low possession, high pressure, makes our defence's life much easier.
The downside is we're not quick enough to counter as a team, we're more likely to get countered.
Re: David Moyes
Disappointed Moyes hasn't made a fuss of that penalty. Very rarely that he does and probably part of the reason we get screwed over again and again.
You look at the KDH and Tarkowski pens this season then the one against Burnley was a pen all day. Add on that Barry's last week against Arsenal.
I'm absolutely fed up of it.

Re: David Moyes
The manager not taking any responsibility for this no?
There are other ways to counter than run fast or hot a target man.
