The Newcastle performance was an aberration really. Think if you tell him to get stuck in then he'll do that well. Anything else forget it.

Granted he is looking better not sure he really works for us in the system we play. He's not good enough for the No 10 role, not disciplined enough for the No 6 and as an 8 you really need someone like KDH in there who knows how to use the ball intelligently, so we don't just have a load of players in the middle who run about a lot but don't actually contribute much creatively.

When you look at his qualities he's a potentially high level ball winner. He's also only 22 so plenty of time on his hands to develop in other areas.

He really needs to massively kick on with either his passing or his positional understanding and positional discipline though to have a career at this level. I think the latter is easier to coach, and if we did that he could be a very effective 'win the ball and pass it to someone else' type midfielder.

Probably could really do with a loan somewhere but we're not in a position to do that, so it'll all depend on how much game time we can give him and how receptive he is to learning in training.

He's certainly not as bad as I have thought at times, the potential is there but I think it's very much 50/50 as to whether he has the footballing intelligence to get to the required levels of premier league football, especially for a team looking to build in to a regular top 8 team.

I like him. CM is a tough position to play and that's why a lot of CMs have gone for upwards of 100M too. He's fast, a very good tackler and can actually twist n turn and find that space to drive the ball forward which neither Gana or Garner can do.

I am sure he'll have a lot of bad games in the future but there's definitely a good player in there.
