Could be that Moyes can’t be arsed with Alcaraz and would rather Armstrong gets his minutes as we have other options to fill in the more advanced positions. Plus Gana is 1000 years old and plays so much football it’s gonna catch up on him properly sooner rather than later.

The plan was obviously for him to be on loan and develop but we've been badly hit by injuries and we need a body.

I'm sure if the crisis subsides he'll go back out, if not then it will be because he's earned a more active role.

Discussing the next steps for 18-year-old midfielder Armstrong, Moyes continued:

"There's an opportunity if he comes back and does well but, the truth is, I would like him to go back to Preston. I want Preston to get promoted, my old club, where I played and managed. They're in a really good position, Preston, pushing for the play-offs [and] I think it's been really good for him.

"I've watched him quite regularly playing for Preston and he's doing a good job for them. If things allow me then I'll certainly send him back because I think it's really good for his development and education for where he's at, at this present time. But we need him at the moment and, if he comes in and does well, then we'll keep hold of him."

Seems a reasonable take, I just hope we see more of him than 5 minutes at the end of each game before he's sent back.

Well that's more reassuring from Moyes and probably reassured Armstrong as well

Appreciate the honesty of that.

Pretty reasonable given the current state of the squad.

Nice little cameo for 15-20 minutes. Looked composed, some nice passes, lovely one to Garner into the box at one point. Looked very comfortable.

Decent. Hard to come on in a game like that 2 goals down and make an impression. He did fine. Showed for the ball and took it on with a few nice touches and forward passes. More please.

It was an open game state but every pass, large or tight window, inside of foot or outside, looked so easy.

Need to see more to confirm but appears to be another baller.

I can’t wait to watch him week in week out, had a good feeling about him from day one, looks class. My Derby mates raved about him and I’ve followed him on a PNE forum and they love him. Going to be a big player for us.
Anyone know if he’s actually a Blue?

Given that Cameo I don't think there's any reason to play Rohl ahead of him... He looked far more ready for this level than his German teammate does.

He might be our best midfielder. Serious. Let him loose.

I have been saying this since starting the thread like, Preston won't be getting him back. They might get Tim though.
