It does look great, but for what it costs I wouldn’t be arsed.
Yep. Hope it’s just a trial run for the big European nights that are coming soon.

I know someone who’s travelling by car from Sunderland for the cup tie - can anyone advise on best parking options? All I can come up with is park in town and walk to the stadium. Was just wondering if there’s a better option?

Cheers

First visit yesterday and I won't comment about atmosphere as it was Brentford and we got stuffed and wherever that was played it would have been flat.

Positives definitely included good heights of seating. My daughter is only six and me, her and my sister sat behind three adults in the family stand (just by the order in which people had chosen to sit) and she still had a good view.
More women's toilets. My sister and little un were in no danger of missing twenty minutes for a half time wee.
The stadium from a distance - it does look impressive as you walk towards it and it is imposing and has a wow factor.
The appearance inside. It does look steep and well designed and the ends designed to let light in I liked.

Negatives - location. I knew about this but it is still a horrendous walk to and from Lime Street and due to volume of people I don't think there is a public transport solution any time soon that would speed this up. The lack of realistic parking options exacerbates the problem.

Our fucking stone - 30mins we searched for that, just to the top left of the N in Everton. Both me and my sister criss crossed the square three times double checking eachother. We've been sent the wrong co ordinates for that, or it hasn't been laid. Little un was well and truly pissed off by the time we gave that up. I was certain we'd find it. Luckily the game managed to eclipse this as lowlight of the day.

The new house feel - this is an unavoidable thing and not a criticism. It's impossible to build a new ground and not have this happen. It felt like a lovely new away ground full of Evertonians. I know history and memories will be made but they won't be my childhood ones and I won't remember my Dad guiding us through the wooden seats in the Lower Bullens triumphant that we could see both goals! I miss the walk through the park, the ritual of pointing out the stench from the other side of it, and the other reminiscences of years gone by.

It's good. They did a good job and we'll be back plenty of times and better games and better results will rectify some of it but fucking hell, I missed Goodison.
In a world full of adversity, we must still dare to dream.

Loads of empty seats yesterday. I was in the Lower South stand and there were plenty including two next to me. Loads on the row behind me. Loads in the West Stand. There was no attendance announcement last night either which probably says a lot.

Those tickets should end up in the hands of younger people and their mates. This is the issue when you have the membership set up. The only way to get rid of your ticket is to put it on the resale site (and there were 60+ there on the day of the game no doubt unsold) for those with a membership to buy or to send it to somebody else who already has a membership.

The system is not fit for purpose when matches like last night come around.
