Without the love and for sure the forgiveness for all his errors he will never succeed.

The pedigree, reputation and for all he already has achieved Grealish will not be turned against - but sadly that won't be the case for Dibling.

Dibling is - like Grealish - a player that needs to try - and to try you need confidence - to get confidence you need trust and being assured that you are allowed to fail. Dibling does not have that trust from his manager and maybe not from a lot of the fans as well. Unfortunately we all know that he is not very vocal and that he has been homesick before which makes it even harder for him to succeed.

I fancy him and I think he has a bright future but I cannot grasp why we bought him. To succeed he would have needed that unconditional love that Moyes has given KDH and Grealish but Dibling won't get it. He never got it - instead he has been treated as an academy player without any PL experience.

Ofcourse - you could say its early days, he is just a kid but we have taken the love, the confidence and the attitude out of this young man and very often that means it can't be installed back without changing the environment. I hope I am wrong but I dont think he will ever make it at Everton.
Moyes won't love you if you don't work hard though, and he's been challenging Dibling since he arrived to work harder in training.

KDH and Grealish both graft and long term that's something that Dibling needs to add to his game so he avoids shockers like yesterday. I think Moyes has it right with him tbh, and it's up to the player to learn that side if he wants to achieve his potential

I kind of agree with you and that is why I dont understand why we went for him this summer. He does not have any of the Moyes-criteria to his DNA. If Moyes is to make him a grafter and a fighter he will loose his attacking skills. You can already see it. At Southampton he would just have gone for it. Try to skip past a couple of defenders - now he is more afraid of loosing the ball than to create anything.

So right now Moyes has just ended up making him worse in attack while still pretty clueless defending. I can't see that Moyes actually wanted Dibling this summer - probably not Barry either.

I get that young players are going to have big dips but ours arent having the ups. I dont think there's been a single game for barry or dibbling were they've really played well. They've both been pretty consistent and not in a good way. Granted dibbling hasn't played a lot but that's probably quite telling too
Mate. Come on. 7/10 performance was the highlight?

I’m not going to argue with the rating - I’d say that’s a fair enough assessment, but you are selling the lad way short with that.

It’s not the fact that in one game he was rated 7/10, it’s what he’s actually doing on the ball, the fact that nobody else bar Grealish and Ndiaye can do it, and the fact that each time he has a game where he’s involved - we see progression and improvement.

If you’re not seeing that not excited by it and where it could go, then I don’t know what enjoyment you get from the game, because that 7/10 performance from him was what I have loved most about our season so far.

Barry hasn't been as bad you make out and is now starting to bag some goals. He's probably playing more than we planned but it will ultimately benefit us.

Dibbling needs to play more, I think he's shown exactly why we spent all that money for him but also why he hasn't been playing regularly.

That's what you get if you buy young. Especially teenager young.

Don't quite get it.

If you look at his highlight reel for Southampton, when he's touch tight he turns quickly and leaves them for dead.

His write up was that when he receives the ball his first thought is to turn quickly and get into the box as quickly as he can.

Is he playing this way through instruction from Moyes telling him to play a certain way or is he just shite?

Probably his confidence is on it's arse, big weight being about the second most expensive player in our history and can't even get a game unless we're down to the second and third string players.

Moyes isn’t the right manager to develop him. How many attacking players has Moyes ever improved? 🤷‍♂️ it’s just not his natural fit

I look at him and kinda wonder if he would just be better centrally. Just doesn't look quite right on the wing. Ndiaye makes it look easy doing everything all by himself, but Dibling looks like he needs players around him to interact with. Possibly if we got a better RB partner it would look better but he just seems like he'd be better in the middle of the pitch...maybe I'm clutching at straws.

Someone needs a bollocking for that. Bang out of order for a public criticism of a young lad like Dibling who is clearly struggling right now.

Doing more harm than good here.

Think it's mental more than anything with him... Actually started the second half well and looked to get on the ball lots. The he lost the ball about 5 mins in, the crowd groaned and we didn't see him again after that.

He's obviously got a lot of talent, but unless he builds the mental side he'll not make it here.

If you open the picture fully, you see above that, we retweeted a tweet from a supporter that says “Who scouted Merlin and Dibling?”
