Yeah, I think no matter what he won’t drop Tarks, possibly correctly as he is a leader at the back, so I think Jarrad comes in once fit and he’ll move JOB to right back. Hopefully he sticks with Patto though.Kerryblueboy wrote: ↑Mon Jan 19, 2026 8:37 am If he can stay fit and get a good run in the team he will have a chance to make the World Cup squad for Scotland whether that’s here or elsewhere remains to be seen I can see Moyes moving Jake back to rb when Jared or Keane are available

Re: Patterson Future
I'll merge this in the big, 20 odd page Patterson thread.
It's to try and stop the transfer thread getting cluttered with 5 different discussions going, especially of there's already a thread for a player.

Re: Patterson Future
If there’s talk of Patterson and Aznou going out then we must have at least a RB lined up.
Re: Patterson Future
You say that like we've got a good track record of having sufficient full back options.....Big Nevs Vaz wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 2:25 pm If there’s talk of Patterson and Aznou going out then we must have at least a RB lined up.

I’m saying that knowing full well that we haven’t got anyone lined up. The blind spot.

Re: Patterson Future
Better get used to seeing Jake at rb and Jared on the other side for the rest of the season
Re: Patterson Future
Probably as much my Scottish bias as anything else but I'm a bit disappointed that he's not been given more time now that he's fit. Said it the other day but he's been "not great, not terrible" but we do look better when he's there rather than JOB. Even when he came on on Saturday he got himself forward a couple of times and got crosses in. I could see the point if JOB was doing a great job (sorry about that) at RB but he isn't really, I wouldn't say he was any better that you don't at least give the proper RB the nod in front of him.
I thought he was unlucky to be be subbed off against Leeds and unlucky not to start against Brighton but maybe he was just needing a bit a rest after playing quite a lot after a long lay off but I'd have given him the remainder of the season to see how he gets on and re address it in the summer. He clearly loves it here, you could see that with the way he celebrated with Beto when he scored but if he can't get a run of games now then he needs to get himself a move in the summer if not today.

Doubt there’s many fans who don’t want to see him at right back for the rest of the season.Gash wrote: ↑Mon Feb 02, 2026 4:25 pm Probably as much my Scottish bias as anything else but I'm a bit disappointed that he's not been given more time now that he's fit. It’s the simple things like knowing what angle to be at when receiving the ball that make a huge difference to us going forward.
Re: Patterson Future
Also forgot to mention at the time but what a lovely take down he had from a Branthwaite diagonal against Villa, killed it with his right foot and quickly moved the ball on, great piece of technique.

Re: Patterson Future
I'm one of his biggest haters on here, that preseason game gave me nightmares, but he has improved with each appearance and could definitely do a passable job if given the game time. Not good enough for us to end our search for a right back, but better than Jake when we're on the ball.
I felt he was unlucky to get dropped at the weekend but Keane had a good game, so it's a weird one. On form, Tark's is lucky to still be starting, but I guess he's there as a leader as much as anything.

Re: Patterson Future
I think Moyes was wrong to pick Keane which led to O’Brien being shoved to RB meaning Patterson got dropped. I know Keane played well as he has most games but he was supposed to be 4th choice. Also feel we’d have been better balanced - as @gash said Patterson showed more going forward in the short time he was on than O’Brien had previously
