The players who were intended to step right in and play most of the minutes have been excellent.

I need a bit more time to judge the rest. We’re not going to know for another year or two whether Barry, Dibling, Aznou, and Röhl were worth it.
It typically takes a young player at least a year before they start establishing themselves in a PL team, doesn't it?

If we assume that 3 of those 4 are playing regularly next season and the lot that we buy this summer need a season to develop, and the same for the following summer then it will be at least 3 seasons before the majority of our signings are playing and contributing regularly.

Which requires patience that most fans (and probably David Moyes) don't have

Problem is, they’re not even getting minutes in the U23’s, or do they?

Be nice to see some accountability from Kinnear after overseeing some horrific recruitment. He was all too pleased to come out after the summer window and say how fantastic he was but seems to have gone quiet.

Where’s the director of recruitment? Get the pitchforks! We need his head on a spike on the dock walls by the end of the weekend!

What do you mean he only started in September and hasn’t actually signed anyone yet?!

Attempted to sign a right back first week summer, failed so gave up after Tete, which hints at no back up targets.

Spent 40m on a winger who doesn't even get on the pitch most weeks and can't get in over a 19 year old centre mid playing out of position. If we sell, he's going for half the price we paid if we are lucky.

About to spent 20m on a Rohl who doesn't get on the pitch most weeks.

Barry is still a massive work in progress but has to start every week as never signed anyone who could be an alternative. Beto had offers but decided to keep......

Only really KDH and Grealish can be considered players who improve first 11 and one is a loan, that's a pretty poor use of funds

Failure again in Jan to sign a right back or striker.

Remember the manager gets final say, he’s repeatedly told us so.

If he’s not happy with any of his players he need only look in the mirror.

I think thats possibly the reason why he should go. Think he gets final say on a recruitment plan he isnt really on board with (and maybe not even good at) he seems to want older more established and hes getting final say on young potential

I think the recruitment team and him are both to blame for the horrific windows but the lack of alignment means its probably never going to really work anyway

Last summer was a mad rush for players and a whole new recruitment team coming into the club weeks before the window opened. It was never going to be an ideal window. We got rejected by loads of targets.

I'll be judging them properly and more harshly, if warranted, this summer now that everybody has had a year in place to build the plan, identify longterm weaknesses and targets.

Agree with this, said it when Dyche was sacked there was too much to do in one window both on and off the field together with a ground move.

This summer will be key, but a world cup year so again so it's highly likely to be a frustration window, player movement won't start kicking into gear until the end of the tournamount, July onwards and then it depends how far we are down the line as a club for players who have not had there first or second choice clubs.

It's this summer and next summer. Let's see what the squad looks like going into 2027/2028 season.

Hardly horrific is it? 4 young players who have been bought due to their potential and 2 players that were both to have an instant impact on the first team, which they have. And a couple of back up keepers. We're sitting in 8th after seasons of relegation fights. Not sure you can accuse any aspect of the club (playing side) as being horrific right now.
