That away end can be brutal for anyone who isn’t even scouse.

Somewhere in between what Barry has posted and what has been said on social media is the truth.
I had some lad hit me with his plaster cast because he didn’t believe I was a Blue because of my accent, so that’s the first thing I thought of too.

There was a boss poster on here back in the day called Rich, if I remember rightly he was from Oxford (Bally could confirm).

I remember her got into a bit of an argie bargie at a home game once because he wasnt scouse and people thought he was an away fan.

Got feel sorry for the non-scouse Evertonians with terrible ball knowledge going to the match. Someone from Surrey is going to get battered for saying they rate Mykolenko!

Been in the home end at Old Trafford a few times, but never had anything to celebrate. Bristol City for the 95 cup run in the home end was a bit moody. Southampton at The Dell and the new ground was fine. City for the game with Cahill and Rodwell goals was somewhere I kept myself to myself. Home end at Stoke's old ground too was somewhere to stay quiet. Think that was only for a friendly too. Blackburn got marked early on as not being local, but the lack of a scouse accent I think just caused confusion. There's probably more that I've been in the home end but can't remember.
I was in one of the Liverpool ends for the Kevin Campbell derby as well, remember celebrating the goal and the goalie getting sent off, but there were loads of blues in the vicinity, wouldnt do it these days.

I was also in the united end at old Trafford for the Bryan Oviedo win and had to sit on my hands and stay quiet, which was obviously hard and then again for the 1-1 draw when Andros Townsend score the equaliser sat right behind the bench at OT, I had a scouse kid in early 20s sit next to me and had to tell him to keep it low profile.

I can probably get away with it though with my Irish accent

I spoke in a Scouse accent getting the bus to Goodison once, was surrounded by Evertonians, but thankfully I do a pretty good Scouse so no one twigged I wasn't local.

Luckily we were playing west ham so doubt anyone would have thought I was an away fan anyway, so probably was a bit pointless and slightly racist.

Yeah, I’d be fine, I moan more about the minutiae of being an Evertonian than most of you natives

Happened to me whenever we play united as I moved near to warrington when I was younger and I'm now a proper wool. It's like people forgot I'd sat in the same seat for 25+ years.

You need to sit in the away end more often then with your track record, between you and Toddacelli avoiding watching us, we’ll walk the league next season.

If I see someone at the match rating Mykolenko, I’m going to assume they’re related and call the stewards to complain about away ticket allocations!

Too soon?

I've never experienced any ill will from fans in all the years I've been going to the game, despite not having a scouse accent. On the contrary, the warmth and loveliness of every random stranger I end up in a conversation with has only added to my love of this club over the years.

Ofc I've never been on an away day with them nutters so theres that lol.

Whilst I'm slightly in the camp of he was wrong over this whole event - I'll never, ever agree with booing and Everton player running into the pitch.
Ever.
