Re: Tim Iroegbunam
I really like that alongside loving a battle with opposing midfielders I like to try and move the ball up the pitch.
Re: Tim Iroegbunam
Absolutely 100% should be starting every game next season in place of Gana. His ball recoveries and ball winning is elite, but the rest of his game is catching up quickly, including his positional discipline.
Don't think anyone saw this coming after Newcastle but it seems to have massively spurred him on to heights previously seemed inconceivable.

Re: Tim Iroegbunam
Why is everyone still trying to drop Gana despite his performances week in week out
Sorry but I’m just not ready

Re: Tim Iroegbunam
Because next season Gana is both 37 and out of contract.
Tim is the future and developing really well whilst already possessing elite level parts to his game.
Eventually you have to move on despite how well a player has served the club, especially when you have a player with huge potential waiting to play and kick on to new levels.

He's been a bit hit and miss since coming back to be fair, it's not a bad thing to plan for his inevitable decline.
Re: Tim Iroegbunam
Ive been vocal about dropping Gana for a while, but the last two games he's been brilliant. Stays in for me.

Aye, Gana does seem to be back, but he won’t be forever. Time to back big Tim in my book.
Re: Tim Iroegbunam
Anyone got a Yoda meme for Gana?

Re: Tim Iroegbunam
Weirdest thing for me is that people want to put Garner right back. Our best player this season. Our best midfielder. Yeah lads, lets stuff him at right back.
Re: Tim Iroegbunam
We play better as a team with him at right back as he is the best right back at the club. We have other option to slot into the middle. It's not that weird a thought.
Re: Tim Iroegbunam
He has qualities that are statistically elite.
But he also has been well below average at other aspects... However those have shown clear development in recent months imo, and he's now getting to those average premier league levels most weeks when he plays.
When you watch Gana drifting out wide to support the wingers and naturally dropping in to areas to cover Ndaiye or McNeil when they drift inside it's a level of game understanding Tim doesn't possess... So he still has the edge on him as a player, but given Tim's level of development recently I honestly think if he continues on that trajectory we'll struggle to keep him.

Think he means Garner and I agree.
He's improved a lot this season but in the majority of games, especially at home, he still doesn't do enough for me. Still far too many safe sideways passes.
I think he's better at right back as he doesn't have much choice but to pass forwards there and he can whip a decent ball in.
Do also agree with you on Tim though. Definitely something potentially really good there.
